It could be that the pieces have not been tiled together correctly. Can you upload photos?

Nicole replied to the topic Liesl and Co Woodland Cape in the forum liesl + co: woodland stroll cape 3 years ago
It is very roomy @sewrosey61 as it fastens with a side button.
This lovely pattern is my go to as a teacher gift. My last version was sewn for a AUS size 20.
(My tip, attach the button with elastic so it has some ease)
Alternatively, I think you could make a wee tab that has buttons on each end.Good luck!

Without seeing it on you I’d probably be inclined to make a larger size and taper the seams if needed, to get a closer fit through the torso.

Todd Gibson replied to the topic Assembling PDF patterns in the forum sewing with liesl + co and oliver + s 3 years ago
Our PDF patterns are a little different than others in that you do not assemble a whole, large pattern sheet with all the pieces on it. Instead, you will be assembling the individual pieces one by one. (Why put them all together in a large sheet only to immediately cut them apart, right?) The tiled pieces do not fit together into a single sheet,…[Read more]

Liesl Gibson replied to the topic Marais in non- stretch woven in the forum liesl + co: marais knit dress + top 3 years ago
As far as I know it hasn’t been done. The pattern was specifically designed for knits, so I’m afraid I can’t offer any advice here. It may be worth a try if you’re willing to fiddle with it, but I can’t offer any assurances since it’s outside of the scope of the pattern itself.

Todd Gibson replied to the topic digital pattern scale in the forum liesl + co: metro t-shirt 3 years ago
There are times when the calibration of a printer’s driver is just off by a bit. We’ve seen cases of this happening more than once.
If you want to double check the file vs. what the printer is saying about the size of the test square when printed, you can turn the rulers on in Adobe Reader to measure the size of the square within the software. I…[Read more]

Liesl Gibson replied to the topic Help—back key hole opening in the forum oliver + s: garden party 3 years ago
I was just going to suggest both interfacing and a shorter stitch length for the future. It can also depend on the fabric you’re using, which you can test with a scrap before you sew the keyhole itself. This is one of those things you’ll learn with experience, unfortunately. But well done sewing your first one!

Liesl Gibson replied to the topic Extra Sharp Pencil Skirt – Fitting Help in the forum liesl + co: extra-sharp pencil skirt 3 years ago
Hi Brenda, It’s difficult to give advice without being able to see the skirt on you, but one big advantage of this style is that you can adjust the seams, as you mentioned. If you feel that you need more or less room in a certain area, simply move your pins to “let in” or “let out”. Once you’ve gotten a fit you like, those changes can be…[Read more]

Liesl Gibson replied to the topic Noord in just one fabric in the forum liesl + co: noord t-shirt + sweatshirt 3 years ago
I think your best bet would to do a mock layout with the pattern pieces since I’m sure they would use less fabric when combined than with three separate fabrics.

Todd Gibson replied to the topic Digital Late Lunch Tunic – HELP! in the forum liesl + co: late lunch tunic 3 years ago
Nothing is missing in the file. You just need to find all the pieces with the same letter-number combinations.
For piece 1, for example, there are four pieces with the letter-number combination 1A. These are spread across three pages: page 15, page 16 (which also includes a section of piece 8D at the bottom–trim the page between those two pieces…[Read more]

Todd Gibson replied to the topic Digital Late Lunch Tunic – HELP! in the forum liesl + co: late lunch tunic 3 years ago
For this pattern, you will be assembling the individual pattern pieces, not a giant pattern sheet. You can find instructions for how to tile the pieces together on page 15 of the PDF file. In short, you will trim the edges (the area outside the grid lines) from the pages. Then look for the letter-number combinations in the black circles in the…[Read more]

Todd Gibson replied to the topic Art Smock Sizing in the forum oliver + s: little things to sew 3 years ago
Because the pattern is for a smock that is meant to be very loose fitting and worn over clothes, sizing is much more forgiving. We have made this available only in Small, Medium, and Large sizes instead of in numbered sizing. We recommend using size Small for children between 6 months and 3 years. But to confirm the best sizing for your specific…[Read more]
