@enbee I have a unisex pattern but I’ve never made them for him before, and the pattern is different enough in construction I’m not sure it would work. There isn’t a side seam, for instance. I thought about trying to figure out how to add pockets, but it just required more brain power than I have access to right now (hello Pandemic, lol). Thank…[Read more]

@enbee I had forgotten about the cup size, apologies. You shouldn’t have too then.
I wish I has time to start this and do it with you.
I guess what I would do is is muslin the 8 graded to the 12 ( as you suggested). Put in one sleeve and check the bicep, you made need to add some there, check arm movement and check length.
Sometimes I have to…[Read more] -

I agree that jersey might be too casual. That’s a gorgeous dress! Are you sure you want to take it apart? If so, you could use the fabric from the original bodice for part of the new bodice, like @Enbee suggests. I suspect that you could match the color and texture of the original fabric pretty closely, especially if you sent a swatch to Farmhouse…[Read more]

You should try it @enbee you might be surprised. This is a 1m cut and as you can see it wasn’t even square.

@enbee what about Art museum trousers? Because it is a wider fabric, you could easily get a pair of these from a yard.

These are great answers! I hear you on the curtains, @justsewit and @enbee. I made sheer linen Roman shades for the living room in NYC a year or two ago and they were brutal. And I also hear you on the quilt, @rhythmtyagi. Your answers are all very interesting. Keep them coming!

@enbee I have to be fast with my toddler. She can be easy going at times and at other times she is busy figuring out how to scale the safety fence, a chair, or me! This morning though, she was singing to herself in her part of the sewing room so I managed to get a bit done. Other than that my sewing is generally reserved for sleep times. At the…[Read more]

Ha ha ha @Enbee, it gave me a good laugh.
I follow the rule you can make most woven patterns with knits (if you take great care) but not the other way.
I would indeed interface the button holes and where you sew the buttons (an extra square where they would go) and handle the fabric gently when sewing. Stay stitching the neck will be very…[Read more]

Nicole replied to the topic Flickr troubles? in the forum off topic 8 years ago
@enbee I have found they change instantly. If one of my photos get tagged with one of those explore ‘awards’ I make the photo ‘private’ (which gets rid of the 50 random favourites and odd comments) and then change it back to public.

Nicole replied to the topic Flickr troubles? in the forum off topic 8 years ago
@enbee I can only add my story. If I upload photos, privately, they seem to stay that way, even after I change the settings, for a period of time.
If I want a photo to be public, I upload it publicly.
Flickr can be a bit temperamental.
I am sorry not to be more help.

Lightning McStitch replied to the topic Child classic jeans pattern? in the forum off topic 8 years ago
Hold this thought for the weekend @enbee we’ve got a blog post coming up with lots of inspiration for jeans from Oliver + S patterns!
My all time favourites were mashing the back half of the After School pattern with the front half of the Field Trip! But there are other great examples. -

@Enbee, I love the Jalie stretch jeans. They have mid and high rise and are a boot cut. Best thing is the many many sizes cater for both kids and adults (which can be a plus). I also have the jeans pattern by Angela Wolf but I haven’t used it as yet. I have done a craftsy class with her teaching how to make them though. They look fantastic and are…[Read more]

@Enbee I cannot recommend the Ginger jeans enough and they have just released a boot cut version.
The zip fly instructions are the best I have ever used.

@enbee are you in Australia or overseas? I found a place the otherday as I am looking to change mine (they aren’t fabric) and I found a place called labelsandribbon.com.au. They look rather good.
