Wool Knit for the Helsinki Jacket?

    I found a beautiful black and white herringbone double wool knit fabric I would love to use for making the Helsinki jacket but your fabric recommendations are for woven wool. Could this work and what are the considerations? Or should I just stick with the woven wool options?

    Hi there. I think this would depend a lot on how stretchy and thick the fabric is. I imagine it would work without any problems, but without seeing it it’s difficult to give advice. A very stretchy knit may not keep its shape very well. You could probably use a fusible interfacing to help, if it’s not too stretchy.

    The double knit is 100% wool. No added plastic for stretchiness. It looks like the same thickness as boiled wool. I do have knit stay tape that I can use on the seams. I have attached a photo of the fabric.
