María replied to the topic Confusion about sleeve cuff in the forum liesl + co: classic shirt 2 years ago
Jane, I have a little tip that is useful for me. After stitching the cuff to the sleeve (step #2)from one dot to the other, I trim the SA as step #3 indicates, but I don’t press it away from the sleeve. That makes it easier to sew again the last inch of the previously stitched seam to the basting line of the facing in step #4, pushing the sleeve i…[Read more]

Thank you, Shelley! I’ll follow your advice and try a one leg-muslin on my flamingo…
I’ve seen the pics of the trousers you sewed for your son and they do not look as wide legged as I have seen in other pictures, you are right. May be it is the effect it makes in shorter kids, looking baggy over the feet. -

Hi, there…
I’m trying this pattern for the first time. I want to sew a pair of trousers as school uniform for my son.I would like to make the trouser leg a little narrower. Where should I narrow it, the inseam, the outseam, or both equally?
Thank you for your help!

Hi, friends.
I would appreciate some help about your favorite online knit fabric sources. It’s difficult for me to find good quality knits here in Spain in brick and mortar shops. Or variety!
I’d love to sew the Belgravia dress, and also some baby’s clothes, so I would be interested in both kind of fabric (for children and adult)
Thanks for your help! -

@4dfamily98, I think that yours must be the first printing. The lowest number is one… In my printing copy the number series doesn’t have the first 1 you have, and I have assumed mine is the second printing. I´m sure @todd will tell you whether I’m right or not.

I’m going to sew a couple of sketchbook shorts as school uniform for one of my kids. I will probably shorten it for the summer uniform and I would love to lenghten it for the winter version. Will proportions be nice just lenghtening the shorts? Which will be the best point to make the lenghtening?
I also want to make the shirt, upcycling old…[Read more] -

@suzanka, did you finally solve the problem?
After cleaning the lint, rethreading the whole thing several times, changing needles… I took it to the service center. They have fixed the problem They have told me that it was a problem with the differential feed. They have adjusted it and now it seems to work correctly. They have told me that this…[Read more] -

Thank you for the quick answer and the link, @liesl
So, should the B6411 had been a Liesl+co pattern, my measurements would appear in size 10 instead of 16, right? And I have to draw a 16 to make the dress in my size. -

I have just bought a couple of Lisette for Butterick patterns (B6464 and B6411), and I see that the sizing is different from Liesl+co patterns. The body measurements for a size 10 in the Liesl+co chart correspond to a size 16 in the Butterick envelope.
What size should I cut, 10 or 16? -

Claudia, have you seen this post? https://oliverands.com/community/blog/2016/09/lengthened-city-stroll-wrap-skirt.html
I think it says Liesl lenghtened her skirt 15 or 16 inches…
Hope this helps. -

That´s the point, it is not below the armhole… I´ve pinned the notches together and both side seams are equal from the armhole to the hem.
I will go then with it. I’ll add one or two inches in length… I have something to hide around the hips!
What a quick answer, thank you so much! I can´t even think what time is it now downunder…

@lightningmcstitch, one question…I have just cut the pattern and I have made a muslin (never thought before I would be doing this, but I love the st James knit I bought in Mood´s and I don´t want to mess things…)
I see that the back is longer than the front, but both hems, back and front, will be even at the end, it is the shoulder seam the o…[Read more] - Load More
