Nicole replied to the topic New topic question and flickr question in the forum about the forums 9 years ago
I am pretty sure it would not be deleted.
With the old flickr accounts only a certain amount of photos were visible if you were a free account customer, if you had a Pro account, all your photos were visible.I find it useful to create albums of photos and categorise them to make it easier to find them in the future.
Perhaps try searching…[Read more]

Hi Margery, I had to giggle at your DUI shopping, I have too stated, in the past, wine/internet=no!
I am no techno guru but creating an account means you can keep track of your PDF purchases, I am not sure about paper ones.

The snaps sold by Oliver+S are fantastic, I can thoroughly recommend them.
However, you could definitely sew in some poppers and then sew a mock button over the top.I have not done that with this pattern but I have on many other garments and it works fine.

I love that first one!
I had a an expensive but pretty useless fluro light put in above my machines so I will be reading this with interest. I am pretty lucky to have a window in my sewing area but through most of summer I must have the blind down as it is too hot.
I have a bendable light over my overlocker I use for unpicking navy on…[Read more]

I can tell you what I do, I am not sure if it is the proper way.
Lay your garment out and let it relax. Trace the pattern piece on to the garment, a sharpie is good.
Try snipping somewhere, not needed, on the garment and see how fast it unravels. If it is not too bad, cut and sew promptly. If it frays a lot, cut, zigzag edges first and then sew…[Read more] -

A few years back, Liesl gave us the tip of reversing the nap of cord so it is more velvety and lush.
Her is a perfect example of how good it looks https://www.flickr.com/photos/128353028@N04/15215509103/in/pool-oliverands/The fabric almost glows.

I would button them on rather then sew them on. Also, consider adding some elastic to the back bottom edge of the strap, stretched to fit inside the strap, for ease.
For the Sketchbook ‘knicker bockers’ I would pleat the bottom of the shorts and add a cuff, like a waistband.
This is how I would attach it (but to the cuff)…[Read more]
