OK, I feel completely ignorant asking this….but snaps? Where to you get them? I want the nice ones that have white on the front like in the bodysuit. I’ve been looking online but I think maybe I’m looking at the wrong thing. My local Joann’s is iffy so I can try there but…. Any help would be appreciated.
Are these the ones you mean?

if not, perhaps Heidi can help?
This is the kind generally used on baby clothes http://www.snapsource.com/store/products.php?categoryParentName=Snaps&categoryName=Size%2016 I’ve bought the same brand here http://www.sewbaby.com/shopbaby/index2.php?cPath=247_285 tear right
My Joanns has a very limited selection, white open-ring and pearl I believe.
I use the polyacetal/resin snaps on diapers. I’ve tried them on baby clothes and don’t really recommend them for that because they grip pretty tight, although the smaller the size the less tightly they grip. I’ve also had them tear right thru’ 4 layers of knit fabrics, so they would need to be reinforced really well.
Thanks, Those links really help.
OK, so this is my bad. We wanted to make this easy for you, so we’re going to carry exactly the right snaps and a snap setter for this pattern in the shop. (Size 15 snaps are notoriously hard to find.) I was supposed to get that taken care of this week, but finding a replacement health insurance plan for the one the business currently has which is being cancelled next month due to non-compliance with ACA guidelines has taken priority over ordering snaps.
(Oh, and since it looks like the best we can do is a new plan that increases our health insurance costs by 28%, I hope you’ll be needing lots of snaps once we have them available. I mean LOTS and LOTS of snaps.)
We just lost our health insurance too and have to buy our own. The premiums have doubled from exactly this time last year when we also needed our own, as have the premiums of everyone I’ve asked. So much for affordable! But I don’t suppose we want to turn anything political here. Suffice it to say, I feel your pain.
You’re too funny, Todd! And, as a fellow business owner, you definitely have my sympathies.
I use KAM snaps and snap press.
I have this snap press http://www.snapsaustralia.com.au/Professional_Snap_Press_p/pr2.htm
And I use size 20 snaps from the same place.
I spent about $100 Aus setting up, including postage, but I figure I only needed to put in 50 or so to be financially ahead given the price of buttons! I have used the press so much and it has been a great investment π
I also bumped a couple of other topics on snaps for you π
Thanks for bumping all of those old posts, Heidi. I didn’t even think about doing a search. I ordered some and hopefully can figure it all out.
OK, for those of you looking for snaps for the Lullaby Layette set, we now have them in stock in the shop.
Here are the snaps (available in ten packs in six different colors):

And here is the handy SnapSetter tool that makes applying the snaps super-easy.
Thank you Todd.
I really don’t like snaps, I usually do buttons but if they are Liesl endorsed…..
Todd, it doesn’t say if they are plastic or metal snaps. The pictures look Like metal but I’m not sure. Thanks π
They are metal.
I love the color selection. I’ve never seen them before. My middle son prefers snaps on his sleepover pajamas, so these may come in handy there too.
