Enjoy sewing your shirt Ellen. I think a smart shirt is lovely on a fellow (and I love sewing them too).
Don’t panic, re the Tea Party dress, Tamara. Trixie is 8 months old and I can just squeeze her into the 0-3 month if she is wearing a disposable.

I made a Carousel dress for Liddy (11),today.
I used sand coloured velvet/uncut cord (not sure what it is) with red topstitching. It has quite a medieval feel to it.

Sewing for Yourself 9 years agoI really like both top patterns and will be purchasing as soon as I have a little extra “me” money. The Gallery top looks like it would be the perfect top (made in a voile or gauze) to throw on over a tank top or camisole for the slightly cooler summer nights at the beach. Sewing for Yourself 9 years agoI love the Gallery so much, I just wish it was a two piece collar. I can see it becoming another Portfolio dress. Hunted down and sort after.
The Maritime is divine, such a slimming and flattering style.
The skirt is so cute, I am concerned how it will look on me as I have a very thick waist and poochy tummy but I love it.

The Kaffe Fassett shot cottons make lovely play shirts. They only need the lightest of ironing once made up.

If you are finding it hard to get a nice turn, try basting a turning guide with a long stitch (#4). This will no only give you an accurate fold line but will gently ease the fabric.
If it is not enough ease, you can gather the stitches, just a bee’s whisker. -
