Lots of options:
I’m sure @juliamom2009 used fold over elastic.
Or, you could make long tubes of fabric and then put elastic inside them, like gathered straps.
My daughter just requested a jumpsuit like that so she doesn’t have to re-tie the bows with every toilet break. -

The imperial measurement of babies makes no sense to me at all. I can much more easily visualise babies in kilograms. A large baby is like an average cat (4-4.5kg) – my second child. An average baby is like a small cat (3-4kg) – my first child.
And you @juliamom2009, on my reference scale, had a pair of guinea pigs! 😅
( I weigh these animals every…[Read more] -

Generally if the curved hem is slight you shouldn’t have a problem. As demonstrated by @juliamom2009!

@juliamom2009 I love her response! Both for the sweet concern for her friends, and for how proud it must have made you feel!
I got our Hiccup (http://wm.schoolofdragons.com/SoD/Joomla/templates/schoolofdragons/images/DTV_cg_hiccup_03.png) costume done in time thanks to @maraya giving me great tips on which patterns to use, and then had to make…[Read more]

@juliamom2009 janice that cape is a monster size version of the messy kid bib from Little Things To Sew, worn backwards. Because the fastening is off set to one side it shouldn’t be too visible from the front.
Hope that helps as an idea. -

@juliamom2009 I found this pic of word girl, I would say the yellow piece is definitely her cape.

@juliamom2009 when the group is closed does this mean invite only? I scrapped my facebook account because I have stalkers! But, if the stalkers went away, I would happily be hoping for an invitation to this group!
I don’t believe there is any harm in asking to join. But then the fear of rejection can take its course and people may not bother…[Read more]

Just typed a long post then lost it, anyway mine did the same thing @juliamom2009 and it was good old quilting cotton. Now in the mending pile.
Perhaps we need to interface both main and yoke. The same issue was found with Badminton dresses. What do you think @liesl an errata or warning required? -

Okay, I’ve sewed up the 4th Oliver+S skirt! You can see my blog post here. (http://skirtfixation.com/2015/04/22-pleated-skirt-and-blouse-all-the-skirts-olivers-and-fat-quarter-shop/) I think I’ve made it more difficult by deciding to sew all the tops with the skirts too! But who could leave out those sweet little tops?
Also since it was Kids…[Read more] -

Piper loves her PJ’s. I have made two pair and they are worn on frequent rotation. @juliamom2009 one of P’s pair is a crop pant as well. 😉
Least worn, nearly everything else. She will wear most things, once or twice but that’s about it. She is very particular about fit and fabric and I usually get it wrong. It’s one of the big reasons I have…[Read more]

That’s me right now – far too many projects I am trying to get done before Christmas and some of them are going to have to wait – including the LTTS puppet theatre I had planned for my toddler. Oh well – I will get her something small for under the tree and sew it up after the holidays and she won’t even know ;-). I won’t be able to get away with…[Read more]
