@juviboston I’ve just measured my petite 8 yr old and she’s just 22inches. She’s in a 6 lengthened to a 7 at the moment and it fits very nicely.
The problem with going any smaller is you need to lengthen all the pattern pieces, not just at the skirt piece, or you would lose all the lovely proportions of this dress.

@JWo Another option might be the free purl bee city gym shorts which have a definite stubbies vibe – though they look pretty luxe here in Liberty. Not how I remember stubbies!

Was it this one on the tea party:

    hem facing

Or perhaps try April’s blog. I seem to remember her doing some posts on beautiful insides!

Nicole I hope it works out. I really logged on to say your Jed is a real gem. My hubby, if asked about the clothes the kids are wearing, would mutter something about patterns online and move as fast as he could in the other direction! It’s great that Jed has so much pride in Your beautiful sewing.

There was a tutorial from Kristin on the O+S blog for adding pockets. I’m guessing many have just chosen to put the facing she shows you how to draft on the front.

I think the music box jumper, particularly view B, makes a wonderful winter dress made up in corduroy or wool. My girls love theirs, usually worn over turtle necked skivvies.

Back again this time with a bit more of an idea. 🙂

General consensus over on Flickr is that you can’t add images to groups from the app anymore. Whether this is by design or an oversight from Flickr isn’t clear and there has been no response from Flickr to the many complaints about the removal of this feature.

So if you haven’t already updated the app, and you value being able to post to groups from your phone, don’t update your app to version 3 until this function is fixed.

Oops! Just realised I haven’t moved to the most recent update. Sorry my description above is completely useless. Carry on!

When you get to the screen where you add a title and description, click on the advanced word/tab. It should take you to a list which let’s you select Groups from your groups subscribed to list. You can also add it to sets etc.

Typical flickr. Change without notice or instruction. That said the app is now very similar to the Instagram interface, so much easier to use. Cheers Lee

Oh yes another Aussie who would happily travel to Sydney or Melbourne for a workshop with Liesl and the chance to meet all the lovely ladies here. Of course a retreat somewhere like Port Douglas in the middle of winter would also be great! A chance to build a dream family holiday around that but probably not realistic!

Just bumping this one up for anyone wanting to use the checklist to work out which patterns to pick up in the sale.

Liesl did a post earlier this year on snaps using the snap setter

    https://oliverands.com/blog/2013/05/tool-tuesday-snapsetter-and-snap-source.html

It looks simple and perfect if you’re not going to be doing huge amounts of snapping. I have some pliers and I hate them! I don’t think I have enough hand strength. But I haven’t used the snap setter either as at the time of the post it wasn’t available in Oz (the continent). Just had a quick search again and for anyone in Australia who is interested you can purchase here:

http://bubbaearth.com.au/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=8 though only a limted range of snap colours.

    Cheers Lee.

This is a great idea. I’ve made a seashore dress in Cloud 9 sandpiper for our beach holiday in a few weeks just because I wanted to see those little pockets being used for seashells.

The one that stumps me is the Secret Agent trench. A photo shoot for a clandestine meeting at the Capitol building like in the movies? Not sure in an Australian context. I don’t think you need a trench coat to tap phones.
