The notches of the sleeve head might be a bit high? Maybe 1/2″ below that.

No, the hems won’t be even, or maybe I don’t stand straight! 😃
If you pick the top up by its shoulder seams the back will hang lower. I don’t think its a forward shoulder seam, at least not by the length of the hem difference.
I love the St James knits too. I have a few of their ready to wear Mariniere tops and they last forever.

My book arrived today and I wasn’t expecting it until next week. It’s a fab book and it will happily distract me this weekend when I am away from my sewing room.

I think it would be fine as is Fiona. Volume wise it’s probably about the same as the pumpkin bucket things you can buy.
And remember, everything is bigger in the states, so by the time your bags arrive there they’ll look normal sized!
