@EllenMCM it was a really good sew.
I used the Lisette blog sew-a-long method and bagged the lining. I had started with the paper pattern but got stuck on the zipper insertion. The paper pattern is incorrect.
Once I went to the blog I zoomed along.
It was 6 hours sewing time and I altered the waist for Zara (15). I think it would be good to alter…[Read more] -

I was able to cut a Roller skate tunic size ten out of one yard this afternoon:)

I have not made this gorgeous dress with the sleeves but I will try and help. My apologies if I am not much use.
When the sleeves are cut, you should have two, mirrored, if you placed your pattern on the fabric, double layered, right sides together.
The notches would be invaluable here so that you can determine front and back.

When fitting jeans, I sew the crotch seam first and then fit the side seams. I was given the tip from a clothing designer, it works really well.
I would wonder if the inseam may need a little pinched out.They are great shorts. I made Hugo (17) five pairs with an added fly and he wore them until last summer and now the Twins (15) wear them. I…[Read more]

I didn’t Janice, but my girls have very curvy derrières.
I would make the size that corresponds to her hips and then taper the leg (inner and outseam) -

I’m about to enter the dreaded/ugly world of uniform sewing. We have a pretty strict requirement….no sneaking in any cute linings, etc. Navy blue and white. The end.
