Thanks for the heads up Tamara! I agree it will be worth every dollar, but will have to wait until next payday ๐
I’m really looking forward to the book, when in the mood I really enjoy pattern manipulation, and I think my nieces will all be getting “beautiful dresses” for Christmas ๐ -

Perils of height, I traced off my pants went to place them on fabric, the 3 pieces of bottom weight I was considering were ALL too short! ๐ Didn’t help that 2 of them were lovely 90cm width micro corduroy.
I found something but it will end up as pajamas if they work, but I can test the pattern. I don’t think I can get away with Winnie the Pooh…[Read more] -

Ah, yes, Tamara, the perils of the lengthy adjustment and recommended fabric requirements or even, I want to use this from my stash, no too short ๐
I’m in the process of adding 4″ to the length of Jalie 3243, pull on non stretch woven pants!
Please let us know about how the Harrison works, it’s on my to buy/make list. I’ve been hoping Cashmerette…[Read more] -

I finished a Cashmerette Appleton for my friend but I didn’t check the stretch requirements so it’s too tight through the back and bicep ๐ I’m going to remove the sleeves and hopefully save the dress.
I also upcycled a friend’s t-shirt for his boy. I added a crossover yoke, inspired by the Hopscotch top as there wasn’t enough fabric. I really…[Read more] -

Hope you were able to get the additional fabric, Tamara!
I’m feeling much better today after a couple of really bad days. I’m making Jalie sweat pants into side opening pants for my niece who will be in bilateral leg casts for a few weeks. I made some last year and they made getting her dressed a much easier task. It’s a benefit having made the…[Read more] -

I was also going to suggest Jalie! Their patterns are wonderful and come in a huge range of sizes, kids 2 right up to large adult sizes. Their PDF’s are fantastic too!
And the patterns I’ve used had great fitting advice too. -

I’ve just finished my Star Wars Alabama Chanin style Tea Party Sundress. It has been a very relaxing project to do while I recovered from surgery. Lots of resting on the couch enabled me to finish it in 7 days! This was a bit of a shock when I realised how fast I made it. I’m back working on my Alabama Chanin style quilt but looking forward to…[Read more]

“Chloe’s” dress sounds like it will be lovely ๐
I’ve retraced the tea party sundress in 6-12m with 1/4 seam allowances so I can make an Alabama Chanin dress with the symbol of the Rebel Alliance (Star Wars) on the skirt. I removed the seam allowances from the neckline so I can bind the neckline.
I’ve been slowly working my way through a Alabama…[Read more] -

There are sequins all over the rug
Each one looks like a shiny blue bug
I could pick up each one
And it would be done -

The invitation says โunder the seaโ
Iโm not sure itโs intended for me.
But Iโll dress as a fish
And I’ll come if I wish -

Of course they look professional!
I’m sewing another Pettiskirt. I haven’t sewn one for a while but I had the impulse to so I am ๐ Not sure if I’ll give it to the recipient when finished or put it away until her birthday in December. -

I made a muslin of the Alabama Chanin corset top. After all my flat pattern adjustments, grading over pretty much all the sizes and adding 3.5″ of length between bust and armhole. I am very impressed with the fit and look. I had to take the neckline by 1″, 1/2″ over 2 seams. And the armholes by 1/2″ at the princess seams. I need to finish the…[Read more]
