@lilypadmontana, my pleasure. Sarvi & Colette sent me some divine hailspot muslin and I made one for Trixie. She is still wearing the blouse and bottoms but grew out of the bodysuit very quickly.
It was fine over a disposable for a bit longer. I actually gave it away in a sewing store. The owner was raving about Beatrix’s outfit and she promptly…[Read more] -

Great ideas Kerrilyn, lots of food, sleep and exercise works for my only boy. He had broken two (yes two) very expensive European irons throwing his footy in the house.
I am very glad to live on a farm, he was encouraged to start hiking and camping from a very young age 🙂

Masha did a few of these. I think she bound the arm so the binding was inclosed (all on the inside).

the armhole would work well with bias tape I think? Like the Fairy Tale view B? but not ready-made binding cut on the straight grain. You could alternatively do a facing and cut it out of any fabric.

I try to every so often separate my kids — boy is 10, girl is 6…
The simplest thing we do together is read a book — something with a girl character that her brother would not ever be into. Or we dance with big flouncy skirts on, or I let her do “makeover” — weird hairstyles, painting nails, doing crazy eye shadow patterns using the colors I’d…[Read more] -

Reeni replied to the topic Tulle in the forum oliver + s: fairy tale 10 years ago
Regular tulle or bridal tulle is quite fine and softens to nothing in the wash… this is the stuff that you often see draped on canopies and church pews. You can use it for the fairytale dress but to make a difference in fluffiness after a few washings, it would be nice to have at least 3x the length of the main fabric skirt.
on the other hand,…[Read more] -

Nicole replied to the topic Swingset top fit in the forum oliver + s: swingset 10 years ago
I made the tiny size for Trixie but she only wore is a few times. It was the getting on that was the problem, it was fine once on but chubby baby arms don’t always bend the way you want them too.
And my babies are very placid and easy to dress.I would make the 6-12 month in your position, you have it for next summer as well then. Also, if you…[Read more]

Sounds exciting!
@lilypadmontana, if you use cloth nappies, make the bodysuit in the second size. It will fit for longer. And you want it to fit, it is so cute! -
Lightning McStitch replied to the topic Any thoughts on the Sunday Brunch Jacket from flannel? in the forum oliver + s: sunday brunch 10 years ago
The only one I’ve made was flannel and i thought it worked very well. The Woollies flannels are lovely, I made a Music Class shirt in a herringbone flannel from them and it washed and wore perfectly. I say go for it. It will be more a heavy shirt weight than a jacket but the fabric will behave just fine.
You’ll be able to spot my flannel Sunday…[Read more] -
