Lightning McStitch replied to the topic Coverstitch Machine? in the forum off topic 8 years ago
@purplevann1 if you really only want to hem t-shirts then my suggestion is to get familiar with a twin needle and woolly nylon. It will be almost free compared to coverstitch, dead easy to change thread colour and saves having to store another machine.
Or buy yourself something shiny 🙂 -

I’m not sure it’s intended for me.
But I’ll dress as a fish -

I had a problem like this too and brought it to my dealer. On mine there’s a switch, in the area below the knife blade, that moves up and down to move a finger underneath the needle. If it’s down by accident it breaks my needles.

@spinny, Thank you!
She loves that dress and is wearing it for a second season *bonus*
The chest measurement is a great place to start, at least you know it will do up!

Hallo @hannahjosie, this is the bit where you have an internet random giving advice so take it with care 😉
I had a similar problem with a second hand overlocker (serger) I purchased.
I hope I am not stating the obvious but change your needle just in case that is bent.As my machine was second hand and we live in the country (no repair place) I…[Read more]

Hi @spinny , I have only made the largest size http://fiveandcounting-motherof5.blogspot.com.au/2015/05/lovely-girl.html and I had to add a few inches to make it hit my daughters knees and she is short to average height.
The petite nature of your daughter may have resulted in the fit?
Better too long 🙂
I would just shorten it, if its causing…[Read more]

@joanholt I am in AUS so things may be different… but I printed the first page, measured that the test square was 1 inch by 1 inch and the printed off the rest.
I hope that helps?

Absolutely @jesims.
I have a tute here http://fiveandcounting-motherof5.blogspot.com.au/2012/03/quick-bedtime-story-tutorial.html so you can see the construction.I would leave off the sleeve, add a flutter and bind the arm sleeve.
Best of luck to wee P.

It was a good as you said it would be @lisamm.
Marilyn was tiny!
She looked to be so curvaceous in her movies but it must have been her tiny waist over emphasising her bust and hips.
Tildy was enthralled with the movie clips, Hugo devoured all the written memorabilia and Liddy, Zara and Elsie swooned over the clothes.
I was amazed at how…[Read more]

If you have to choose between those three colors I’d say black; if she is to wear it with jeans grey might be more youthful?
apropos of colored trim, planning as requested by dd a pistachio-green suedecloth big-collared moto jacket. (As she is tiny, she does not fit Lisette sizing yet — I will have to hack the School Days pattern most likely!)…[Read more] -

I reckon I could find you a hot pink zipper!
Worth an enquiry to these guys http://www.lzf.com.au/ as they have a huge range and will cut to required length etc. I’ve used them for single zips before.
(otherwise, my answer to your question would be black. White would be very 1980s and grey a bit reminiscent of a Galah :)) - Load More
