Hi @willknitformath I would think you have safely got enough fabric for the size 3T depending on how much length you add.
There was a gorgeous multi fabric Jumprope made a few years back, I will see if I can find it in the pool.
For me, I would consider a white collar and placket to complement the different fabrics.
It will eliminate pattern…[Read more] -

@madtownmama– I’ve sewn most of the O+s patterns, but I haven’t noticed any real issues with size inconsistency. I actually have to lengthen the sleepover pants (well, all pants patterns) for all 3 of my babies, and while I haven’t made the parachute pants, I noticed you had an issue with the waistband, so I’m wondering if you utilized the wrong…[Read more]

Nicole replied to the topic To line or not to line the Lullaby pants? in the forum oliver + s: lullaby 8 years ago
@with-love-heidi, your layette is divine!
I lined some wool dungarees I made Trixie with lawn.
See here http://fiveandcounting-motherof5.blogspot.com.au/2015/05/baby-beatrix.html (not O+S *blush*)
They are brilliant as the wool is naturally water repellent keeping her dry when she toddles in wet grass.
Great choice! -

My little girl is about to outgrow
Her coat, her frock, and chapeau
I’d better get sewing
Because there’s no knowing
Homemade will be met with a ‘No’.Babies grow far, far too fast.

I have just finished two Liesl+Co Bento tees for my daughter, Zara (16).
One is in a very light knit which sewing the neck line nearly gave me a nervous breakdown (but turned out beautifully) and the other a weighty, draping cotton/modal.
Both look stunning paired with the two pairs of CityGym shorts I #queuejump sewed for her so she has something…[Read more] -

I did double when I drafted mine out of a heavy cotton linen blend. I also interfaced the collar to keep it crisp when worn by an active child. Hang on and I’ll attach pictures.

I did something similar the first time I made this pattern.
I had to sew the skirt side seams in layers; the base fabric was french seamed, the overlay was french seamed, and then I put the 2 layers of skirt together before attaching to the bodice. For the bodice, I basted and then sewed the side seams wrong side together, ironed (I have an iron…[Read more]

I should have updated with pictures, eh?
I didn’t have enough time to make and finish the chain mail shirt, but he claimed that the shirt would have been too uncomfortable and itchy after he wore the fitted chain mail hood all day. I am glad the weather was beautiful and unseasonably warm on Thursday for the fair itself, as there was no school on…[Read more]

Whew! Thank you for the reminder that Easter is in March this year!
My youngest needs new dress pants, I wanted to make a vest for him, and he needs a new dress shirt. Obviously, @mama_knowles has her act together, so I’m going to follow suit and make up the Art Museum set and a new Sketchbook shirt. The girl will need a dress. A collared Fairy…[Read more]

Wish me luck. My oldest has the school’s 8th grade Renaissance Fair tomorrow, and I am scrambling to put together a Crusader costume. We made a quick run to WalMart last night, and scored some white flannel and red felt for a tunic, and his faux chain mail is being created with large gauge black tulle layered over a silver metallic costume fabric.…[Read more]

Thank you everyone, for your kind words, thoughts and prayers. Grandpa passed peacefully on the evening of January 29th. We had good weather for travel, a dear friend took care of our children (the trip took longer than the 3 days allowed by the school), all but one of my cousins made the services, and, despite the reason behind all of us…[Read more]
