    Great ideas! I loved to hand sew (cross stitch, embroidery) when I was a girl–that is a great idea for a starting point!

    Not sure if this is the right spot for a Straight Stitch Society pattern request, but I would love to see a travel set in that line:

    * dopp case (toiletries bag) in small and large sizes

    * passport/boarding pass folio

    * travel size needle book

    * streamlined sling bag for keeping it all organized

    My first O + S project was a School Photo dress for my daughter in the fall of 2010. It was such fun to sew, and I’ve been a devoted follower ever since!

    Do it! Would be a great option for those of us who joined the O + S party late!

    We, too, use knit bike shorts under dresses and skirts in the summer. I usually buy them a size small, so they are not too long or baggy under the dress. With RTW, I won’t buy any skirts that don’t have built in shorts underneath…would love O + S to come out with a skirt pattern that includes this feature!

    Just made this dress (view B) in the City Weekend knit, and I don’t recommend using a knit for this pattern. The placket, cuffs, and pocket seams became way too bulky and as a result became sloppy looking. Love the style of this dress, but when I make it next time I’ll stick with a woven as the pattern suggests.

    So funny you mention this–a Jumpe Rope Dress in Ramble in the Park (aqua color way) is on my cutting table for this week. I’ll post some pictures when I’m done!

    I would love to see a skirt with a built-in pair of shorts underneath. I’ve seen this on many ready-made garments, but have never seen a quality pattern for this type of skirt. My daughter loves to wear skirts, but also loves to hang upside down on the monkey bars–the only way to way to reconcile these two passions is with shorts underneath the skirt!
