The Hide and Seek is my favorite style but I don’t own the pattern yet (because we are on the cusp of outgrowing the smaller size and I’m telling myself to wait until it makes sense to buy the longer … though I probably need both since my girls tend to be 2s or 3s for width in O+S.

IN any case, my FOE arrived, I finished the last of my diaper…[Read more]

I am FINALLY making a Hide and Seek tunic – of course, I bought the pattern in the smaller size and just realized that the kiddo is going to be out of a size 4 any second. Good thing this is a generous fit and I added a couple of inches in length…it’s coming along wonderfully; I’m using fabric from Tula Pink’s new line along with a ponte de…[Read more]

  • I’d sew the blazer too 🙂 A knit cardigan would be wonderful as well – they are my personal favorite thing to wear so my girls get new ones each year (store-bought). Now that I have dipped my toes into the waters of swimsuit sewing, it occurs to me that an O+S swimsuit pattern with a couple different views would be awesome …

A pair of pink dresses in need of a new home….
I have some options for rehoming but these are both such Oliver + S dresses that I prefer to offer them here!

Tamara, I used the Darling Diapers Unlimited Pattern for the fitteds, but after I did that I found this site with lots of great free patterns. I used the NB/S squaretab to make my pockets and her FOE cover pattern for my covers.

  • Washyvision – brilliant!

We were talking about the less fortunate – my daughter (4 and 5) were asking whether there were people who didn’t have beds, etc. My 4-year-old thought for awhile and then asked whether their aunt was poor. Her reasoning was that auntie must be poor as she lives in a very small basement apartment (with an exorbitant…[Read more]

Nesting re-kicked in a few weeks ago and I spent that time sewing up a cloth diaper stash for the newbie. As soon as my order for more folder elastic arrives, I can finish the last cover, which will complete my stash of 12 newborn fitted diapers, four PUL covers and six nb/small adjustable pocket diapers complete with hemp/microfiber inserts (for…[Read more]

  • What an amusing internal struggle @mariasasse 🙂 good luck!

  • I’m sure it would be divine.
I would work out how many and approximately how deep I wanted the pleats to be, then calculate the skirt width from that to check against the original skirt and see if the “fullness” is similar.
More maths but quite fun I you’re into it. Or you can play with basting as Nicole said.
There will be a blog post soon about…[Read more]

  • Happy birthday to Tilly.
I was sewing Playdate yesterday too, but mine was a more mundane production line of five pair of leggings.
Heidi I love the sound of a zip up Hide and Seek hoodie dress. Awesome! I’d pass on the cheetah print and ears myself but then I’m not eight! It’s a fabulous idea though and i look forward to seeing it.

  • Perhaps you need an awesome trench coat in a fresh spring-like colour and put any old thing underneath cause you won’t be taking it off. With a fullish skirt (like the Secret Agent view B) a trench is sort of a dress anyway.

  • Love it @dubhels2003 Front loader I presume?

  • I just discovered that using emoticons (required if you’re picking a friendly fight with admin)causes some kind of break and only the comment up to that point gets published.
Doesn’t matter ’cause we still have colons and brackets, but the newer prefabricated emoticons don’t work.
    🙂

  • @Todd from the safety of the other side of the Pacific I’m flapping your computer with my glove and picking a fight! 🙂
Seriously, I’m sure I would be punching above my weight but wouldn’t it be fun to try. I was thinking more along the lines of Kasparov vs Deep Blue. Wikipedia tells me Kasparov is still alive so I like my comparison better!
    I…[Read more]
