Hi @willknitformath I would think you have safely got enough fabric for the size 3T depending on how much length you add.
There was a gorgeous multi fabric Jumprope made a few years back, I will see if I can find it in the pool.
For me, I would consider a white collar and placket to complement the different fabrics.
It will eliminate pattern…[Read more] -

While we have a school days rain jacket cut and ready to go, we’ve been scheming some ‘subtle’ Disney sewing!

I changed up a Metro tee to have a waterfall neckline last year and I have now made my second one (with a third in the pipe line as I’m still undecided on the colour of the second one).
I was super pleased with the first version of the waterfall neckline so I didn’t make any changes to it other than cutting a long sleeve but that was because I…[Read more]

I thought I’d revive this thread – I know some of you are interested.
Sweden’s Crown Princess Victoria gave birth to her second child, a boy, yesterday evening.
The new little Prince will be named Oscar Carl Olof and has been made Duke of Skåne (Scania, my county actually, yay!) by his grandfather the King.
The only two persons who were Duke…[Read more]

Here you go: https://oliverands.com/shop/sketchbook-shirt-shorts-sewing-pattern.html#tab-errata
You might want to have a peek at the older threads about this pattern. Folks who want a tuck-in style shirt often add some length, and there’s discussion there about how much to add for which size.
I don’t know whether there’s been a second printing…[Read more]

I’m partial to Kaufman’s Laguna jersey. It’s 100% cotton, not too thick and not too thin, and it comes in a nice range of colors. The heather grays are particularly nice.

@with-love-heidi, your layette is divine!
I lined some wool dungarees I made Trixie with lawn.
See here http://fiveandcounting-motherof5.blogspot.com.au/2015/05/baby-beatrix.html (not O+S *blush*)
They are brilliant as the wool is naturally water repellent keeping her dry when she toddles in wet grass.
Great choice! -

My little girl is about to outgrow
Her coat, her frock, and chapeau
I’d better get sewing
Because there’s no knowing
Homemade will be met with a ‘No’.Babies grow far, far too fast.

I have just finished two Liesl+Co Bento tees for my daughter, Zara (16).
One is in a very light knit which sewing the neck line nearly gave me a nervous breakdown (but turned out beautifully) and the other a weighty, draping cotton/modal.
Both look stunning paired with the two pairs of CityGym shorts I #queuejump sewed for her so she has something…[Read more] -

Yes, I completely understand your concerns. We’ve addressed it in our family by never using S’s name, and I try to be careful not to post specifics about where we live, where she goes to school, etc. You have to do what you feel comfortable doing.

I’m with Tamara. When in doubt, line to protect baby’s skin. You could also underline and treat both layers of fabric as one, which can be a nice option with the same general effect.
