Heirloom Sewing and Embroidery 9 years agoI made up the Puppet Show in white hailspot muslin for my baby before I knew what it was.
I also think the Hide and Seek tunic would look gorgeous on a wee baby boy.Do you have the Puppet Show? I wonder if that collar would fit?

Heirloom Sewing and Embroidery 9 years agoHi there, I’m very new to embroidery and heirloom sewing. At the moment I’m trying to do my first piece of pleated smocking, does anyone know of any good video tutorials on simple smocking stitches for beginners… I’ve had no luck with YouTube??

I don’t know about any video tutorials but I do know that if you pick up a copy of the A-Z of Smocking, you can’t go wrong! I also know that if you live in the US, a SAGA chapter might also help. I’m in Australia but have been a SAGA member and they have online courses etc – but first things first, you need to know some little ins and outs of…[Read more]

Heirloom Sewing and Embroidery 9 years agoI would say that you wouldn’t actually fold the fabric as per you would ordinarily to get the result because the tucks moght end up a bit off. Would trace the pattern on the fold but not cut it on the fold in order to get the full piece and then work from there to determine where to put my tucks.
This is just how I would do it.

Heirloom Sewing and Embroidery 9 years agore lullaby – wouldn’t you make the tucks in your fabric first and then lay the pattern on top for tracing and cutting?
I’d like learn more about growth tucks too, such a clever concept, but the link didn’t work for me either.

Heirloom Sewing and Embroidery 9 years agoWhen I try copy and paste for a link, it won’t even paste. If I open a word doc and paste it into the doc, it works, but if I try and paste in this, it doesn’t work at all.
For the admin’s info. I am on a Mac (Yosemite), using Chrome. I thought it was just me being inept that was having problems so I didn’t mention it to anyone.
