@mim22, thank you.
We had a scary and vigilant few days but the weather has broken now. We had a huge fire last year and lost a lot of fences, crops and sheds so we had cleared a lot of trees and scrubby undergrowth in anticipation.
My sister, who lives in the Adelaide Hills, was evacuated but her home was not burnt.I love sewing Liberty, I use…[Read more]

Happy New Year to all!
I hope everyone is safe and well.
My sewing goals for the New Year are to sew more thoughtfully (do we really need it)? and focus on finishing and fabric choices.
I also plan to downsize my stash. I am frequently given bags of fabric and patterns from ladies that no longer sew, which is lovely, but I think I need to cull…[Read more]

@EllenMCM, do you have the Jumprope dress pattern? I was making my son a shirt last year and I pulled out the Jumprope instructions to help me do the sleeve plackets.
Still sewing my cousins dress. Next up, the Field Trip cargoes and tee for Tildy. Then I will be cutting more swimmers, school uniforms or a shirt for my husband.

Nicole replied to the topic Fleece Nature Walk pullover–still use interfacing? in the forum oliver + s: nature walk 9 years ago
Not a huge polar fleece fan, it is not cold enough here, but I do use cotton un-brushed fleece a lot.
I do interface as per usual but as this will make one side more rigid then the other, I will use a thin strip of interfacing to stabilise the seam area of the other piece of fabric. -

I would wonder if you made it in stretch whether that would be enough?
My girls wore the size 8 until they were 12.
I don’t have a lot of success sizing up patterns, I find they lose the original look for me but I would wonder about splitting the centre front piece and adding to the middle?
Perhaps split the back at the shoulders to the hem and…[Read more] -

Good luck @justsewit.
Class Picnic blouse and shorts finished. I piped the shorts facing which actually made the easier to sew. How often that does happen?
Now I must finish this dress for my cousin. A sweet baby boy named Eoin placed it on hold for 12 months.
