@thejennigirl I can definitely relate to this. My eldest is only thirteen and busting out like you wouldn’t believe! She even notices the size! But then she has it in her genes poor girl with two busty grandmothers, who can compete? Think of it this way, at least your daughter will have no need to get an enhancement in this area because she’s been…[Read more]

Hi Ann, I found this and it seems like it might be useful:

But if anybody has actually done it themselves or knows of a great tip please chime in!

  • The fairy tale might be a good place to start because it already has darts.
I have recollections of seeing Nicole’s daughters in their hopscotch tops as they developed. It seemed the gathers gave a bit of extra room. I wonder if the class picnic and badminton gathers would too? Or you could do an FBA and rotate the excess into the gathers already…[Read more]

@enbee I have found they change instantly. If one of my photos get tagged with one of those explore ‘awards’ I make the photo ‘private’ (which gets rid of the 50 random favourites and odd comments) and then change it back to public.

I can relate @dubhels2003 motivation would be really nice right now!

I am currently stressing a litte. The promise to help tape pdf patterns together and cut out the tracings went totally out the window. I have only just measured the girl and she’s jumped two sizes! No wonder the jalie jeans I made her last August don’t fit, we are looking at…[Read more]

@mcholley1 have you ever made the school days jacket? You could do the pleat in the lining as per this and it should work. I would take it all the way down.

I have just finished the most darling little croquet dress! And here I go again dreaming of more!

Next though is another shot at a simplicity jumpsuit for my eldest. Seeing as I couldn’t get anymore of the original fabric I will start again and use linen instead.

  • Whilst attaching the skirt to the bodice of the croquet dress I am making today, I discovered that I attached the skirt wrong side out. It happened TWICE!

That blouse does sound lovely @withloveHeidi. I have just cut the 12-18 month size pattern for the class picnic blouse also with a view of using it soon.

I made a start on the croquet dress this morning while Chloë was sleeping. I am up to attaching skeeves, top and skirt.

I have to stitch the back placket of the last two remaining Playdate…[Read more]

  • I suspect that the vertical armpit wrinkle means you need less width through the chest at that point. I have fixed this by pinning out a dart on my practice version and transferring the new shape to my pattern. It can look quite odd.
You may need to add the amount removed from the front to the back, especially as you mentioned the back was…[Read more]
