We can hit the machines together @justsewit.
@lattemama, that sounds amazing. I did some screen printing at school and loved it. I still have my carved lino prints somewhere…. I was heavily influenced by Margaret Preston.

I understand where you are coming from MC. My husband has offered me his office and he will move to the children’s office/my sewing room but then I will be shut away and probably get less chance to sew.
I actually sewed today, so excited about that. It is two weeks since I had my surgery but it knocked me for six.

I love all of them and the dress is fantastic! I wonder how that will go for nursing? I am suspecting it would be easy to adapt.
They won’t be ready for Easter will they?

Good for you Meleliza! Actually, I have the Edwardian daygown I made for a Royal Agricultural show a few years ago handy should it be that time runs away from me. It’s actually longer than I thought it would be but so very very pretty.
But I really want to make Mignonette before she starts walking and running away from me! And then I can put it…[Read more]

Sometimes I really hate living in the bush! We have had no power since Monday night 9pm. The generator threw a wobbly when we tried to wash dishes (using the machine) and has been touchy ever since. One air conditioner going flat out and we are all sent to bed at 7.30 so we can have cool bedrooms!
Aching for the power to return so that I can do…[Read more]

Giggle! That’s the Aussie humour coming out! Both Susan and Gail are very talented and lovely people. Nothing worse than a cranky embroidery instructor – they definitely fall in the “happy” group.

I second Joi’s classes. They may be a little confusing to start with (if you are used to the other methods of altering patterns) but they will make a heap of sense when practise and apply the method to fit your body. I actually get better results now than before.

Have you checked to see whether Shaukat will deliver to India? They don’t charge VAT when shipping elsewhere.

I have a jacket just like that one that I bought in my early 20’s. It doesn’t fit anymore but I refuse to let go of it. As I remember it wasn’t cheap! Maybe now I could make a new one.

What about Anna Maria Horner’s Paper Fan Dress bodice with a beautifully full skirt? It has a crossover buttoned back bodice.

Oh, what pretty fabric and SO perfect for an Irish wedding! I was drawn to that same photo from your Pinterest board as well. One suggestion I’d make is to make the underlayer a slightly darker shade than the overlayer. With white on white I find that sometimes I can’t see the pretty details as well as I’d like.

Perfect, I was so hoping you’d done a tute for it. This will be very useful for the baby girls in my life.
