Todd Gibson replied to the topic spring 2015 patterns – when?? in the forum sewing with liesl + co and oliver + s 11 years ago
Sorry to keep you in suspense!
Everything is printed, and now it’s time for the process of marrying up the jobs from the different printers and getting them assembled. Then they need to ship back across the country and get warehoused before we can release them.
So it will probably be another couple weeks, but it could be sooner if everyone does…[Read more]

I make holes in patterns with a machine needle. If the fabric isn’t too pressure I poke the needle all the way through the pattern and the fabric.

Fiber Club! 11 years agoWell I started the pattern part of the dress yesterday and after two rows have already stuffed it up. I “yarn forward” ed the wrong way! So I will start again I guess. For some reason I ended up with five stitches at the end instead of three so I will use something as counters when I cast on to make sure the number of stitches is correct. Then it…[Read more]

Fiber Club! 11 years agoFor someone who doesn’t usually knit and doesn’t consider herself a knitter, I have embarked on a project I hope to finish rather fast. Time will tell. But I have always wanted to have a knitted baby dress so I am making one for Chloe. I actually signed up to ravelry and that has inspired me to knit also. There is this beautiful dress I’d love to…[Read more]

A ruffler is a great piece of equipment 🙂
I’ve also recently been using elastic thread in the bobbin as a quick and easy gathering/ruffling method. I like it because I can easily stretch the gathered piece to fit. -

Fiber Club! 11 years agoLinda is spot on. The only thing I would add is that some yarns are inherently very firm and some grow/bloom in counterintuitive way so also block your swatch. Even a half or a third of a stitch off (in width — row gauge is better handled in inches, I think) can add up so much more quickly than it seems it should.

Bees at a spelling bee sounds so cute!
I’ve traced off Jalie 3244, footie pj’s, and a hood from Ottobre. I’m making it in red and black coral fleece, super cozy 🙂 -

Today’s sewing consisted of sewing three Layette shirts in assembly line fashion. I currently have them in the hand sewing basket waiting for their neckbindings to be handstitched down.
I also managed to handsew the lining of the Cape Ann bubble and have also sewn the buttonholes. This is also in the handsewing basket waiting for buttons to go…[Read more]
