I was actually hoping they’d send some other prints to my spotters but as I keep getti g told they get given pot luck! Its like looking for a particular pattern the last time I was there – a simplicity pattern but it “wasn’t available” because even with the pattern they get what they are given! Well as luck would have it I have discovered that I attached the plackets the wrong way around – majoy unpicking effort later, everything is rectified. i still have two skinny plackets sitting there doing nothing but also a fat one has joined the pile too! On doing some simple construction and getting a little sewing time in, I got started on a tiny apple picking dress. The big problem is that I keep for some unknown reason sewing the skinny placket backwards so the folded edge is the wrong way! I have two skinny plackets, both backward!

On other patterns, I sort of eye ball it and see where it works best (i.e. won’t alter the shape too much).

I would love to know if there is a rule of thumb. The last few vintage patterns I have sewn tell you to ‘lengthen above this line’.

I don’t have a pattern number for you but I have had success making casual pull on trousers from pj’s bottoms patterns.
You will need to add pockets and there looks to be a boot leg type thing going on, so maybe a teen style range?
