Hallo @hannahjosie, this is the bit where you have an internet random giving advice so take it with care 😉
I had a similar problem with a second hand overlocker (serger) I purchased.
I hope I am not stating the obvious but change your needle just in case that is bent.As my machine was second hand and we live in the country (no repair place) I…[Read more]

Hi @spinny , I have only made the largest size http://fiveandcounting-motherof5.blogspot.com.au/2015/05/lovely-girl.html and I had to add a few inches to make it hit my daughters knees and she is short to average height.
The petite nature of your daughter may have resulted in the fit?
Better too long 🙂
I would just shorten it, if its causing…[Read more]

@joanholt I am in AUS so things may be different… but I printed the first page, measured that the test square was 1 inch by 1 inch and the printed off the rest.
I hope that helps?

I have finished a pair of black “boyfriend” style jeans for my eldest and the pair of skinnies are stillin the process of being completed. She wanted them “to look professional”🙄 So when I showed them to her she’s decided they are better than professional now! I should jolly well hope so!
I am planning to cut and sew a pair of jeans for myself…[Read more]

Oh that is excellent news @todd. I think it’s even better knowing where your kidney is going but of course there wouldn’t be much more than that. Please send Liesl our best. Really glad to know she’s up and about already. Major surgery has a tendency to knock you for a six if you’re no careful!
@dubhels2003 such a lovely kind person you are😀

Oh glad we helped. I didn’t actually see Heidi’s post before mine for some reason but isn’t it good you got two votes for one pattern.
We are currently having stupid power surges and I just bought a $20 pdf pattern that only has three goes at downloading😩.
I so far have halfmade skirt that have been put aside for the moment in favour of fitting…[Read more]

Absolutely @jesims.
I have a tute here http://fiveandcounting-motherof5.blogspot.com.au/2012/03/quick-bedtime-story-tutorial.html so you can see the construction.I would leave off the sleeve, add a flutter and bind the arm sleeve.
Best of luck to wee P.

Thanks! Funny you mentioned badminton, because I was thinking of buying that to make school skirts. She liked the butterfly, but hated wearing both shorts and skirts (2 waist bands) so I was thinking badminton for the skort for school!
And I love that Tania culotte. The shorter version is exactly what she…[Read more]

Tamara replied to the topic Seam allowances in the forum off topic 8 years ago
Hi @campergirl the seam allowances are always added into the Oliver and s patterns which is extremely convenient. Just as a general rule of thumb, if the pattern is for a woven fabric, then the seam allowance is 1/2″ and if it is a knit pattern then 1/4″ is used. It usually states this at the beginning of the instructions.
So 1/2″ for the bucket…[Read more]
