How old is your daughter, by your description I am assuming a toddler? So she may only wear the garment for a short time?
If it was me, I would be researching which patterns are the best fit for that body shape, rather then altering a higher waisted pattern.

That is exactly how I want *my* pants to fit, (breathing room in front, plumber’s coverage in back) so although I regrettably don’t have a solution, I eagerly await the advice of others.

50F in California and I’d be wearing one of those red snowsuits polar explorers wear. 76-81F with little humidity. My system finds no other temperatures enjoyable.

I am FINALLY making a Hide and Seek tunic – of course, I bought the pattern in the smaller size and just realized that the kiddo is going to be out of a size 4 any second. I finished the sketchbook shirt, 5 hours from drafting the pattern to completely finished
Considering Trixie has a cold ( and needed lots of cuddles) I was pretty happy with that

Just popping in to say that if you already like digital you will love these ones
Rather then glueing together a huge sheet one pieces just the patterns pieces
