Thanks, @clt3! It’s the quilting that’s throwing me off. I wanted something drapey-ish for a dress. But I’m still thinking that it must be available in another substrate someplace, because the original outfit doesn’t appear to be quilted.

@deanna, I purchased a pair of blue jeans for S a while ago that had a second layer of fabric at the knees. It was simply sewn behind the main fabric at the location of the knees before the jeans were constructed, and it reinforced the fabric very nicely. I thought it was a great idea. I wish we still had them so I could take a photo for you!

Thanks for checking, @nanamar! @Robin went and found it for me yesterday, but it was printed on a quilted poly knit that sounded not very nice. Too bad! It’s a stunning floral. I was wanting to make a dress with it. xo

Exactly! This is what’s so difficult to convey about the book. I may need you all to help me explain it to others, ok? A women’s book will obviously deal more with bust darts and dart manipulation, but otherwise most of the material in the book can be applied to all sorts of projects.
