Match the curved edges at the bottom of the pocket. Leave a opening to turn the pocket. The longer pocket piece will fold over towards the back of the pocket.
Does that help? -

You are so right. I figured it was me as I am a computer moron.
I end up just scrolling through pages looking for posts. -

Nicole replied to the topic Adding a ruffle to the shorts in the forum oliver + s: puppet show 11 years ago
No problems at all!
Happy to have you here!
I would add the ruffle to the front and pin and stitch the blinding over the top of it. That would give an ‘up’ ruffle.
To add a ruffle pointing down the leg could be trickier, or you could finish the shorts as per instructions and then add a gathered piece to the inside, baste it and then topstitch it…[Read more] -

Definitely as a ‘new tab’!! Also, it would be great to have a ‘reply’ button underneath each comment….in case someone asked a specific question, and you could have a branch of discussion within the main thread. I liked the suggestion about having the threads start with the newest information first as well.

Stuffing the ballot box for new tab. (You can new tab in chrome on a mac, it’s not PC-specific, but I’m lazy.)

For the most case, it won’t matter if you cut the straps with the grain or across the fabric.
I made some silk ties for a dress once and cut one with and one across and the one across stretched a little.
I shouldn’t think you would have a problem with most fabrics you would use for the bear carrier.
I hope that helps. -

Liesl Gibson replied to the topic Stabilizing knit seams? in the forum oliver + s: field trip 11 years ago
Pippi, that tape used to finish the neckline is really for aesthetic reasons–to cover the merrow/serger stitching. I suppose it might also stabilize the neck a bit too, but the fabric itself is mostly responsible for the neckline. A knit with good recovery (it bounces back to its original shape after being stretched) will do fine. Knits without…[Read more]

Really? That is awesome, thank you!
It is a great finish which I use a lot. Its a great way to line a top or bodice.
You have made my day! -

Alright, sillies. I totally missed this whole exchange last week. Nicole, if you’d like to guest post it for us we’d be absolutely delighted, but I totally understand if you want it for your own blog. Invitation is open, ok? Drop me a line if you want to write it for us and I’ll tell you what we need in terms of photo sizes, etc.
Regarding the…[Read more] -

There are a lot of places where there can be a bit of ‘creep’:
when tracing
when cutting
when pinning
when stitching
And it’s partly that you’re dealing with fabric, which isn’t rigid and indeed isn’t even shifty in consistent ways (it wiggles differently on the straight grain and around the bias bits of a curve) and partly that you’re dealing…[Read more] -
