This time of year is so busy!
Thank goodness the Champagne is fizzy.
But the joy of the day
    Is all over by May
And this weather is making me dizzy.

I wish I was living in Spain

Enbee, I’ve made the Small Fry jeans in the size that they offer for free, I believe it’s 2T. I really liked them and was very pleased with how they turned out….they got worn constantly until my son outgrew them. But, as you say, they did have a low-riding pockets look, which I always figured was intentional to go with the normal skinny jean look.

But it should work fine and be a fairly simple matter to remove some length from the yoke and add an equal amount to the top of the jeans back piece.

My little girl is about to outgrow
Her coat, her frock, and chapeau
    I’d better get sewing
    Because there’s no knowing

Happy Holidays to everybody! It’s been awhile since I’ve joined in the discussion forums.
Roundtheworldgirl, have you discovered these American Girl patterns in your web-searching? http://www.agplaythings.com/ag%20patterns/dolldresspatterns.html They are official American Girl patterns for some of the old original characters. I’ve sewn from them and they are well-made, and the clothing fits nicely.
Currently, I have cut out and am preparing to tackle a camo hunting jacket for my 15 yr old son. I’m using what is called “softshell” fabric. It is a water/windproof outer and fleece inner, at 20$ a yard the most expensive fabric I’ve ever sewn with! So I don’t want to mess it up. I’m using a Green Pepper pattern, and am trying to copy as many details as possible from my oldest son’s brand name hunting jacket.

I made the Washi dress and never wore it because it just was too high-waisted and roomy in the belly area; it made me look pregnant. I think it would make an excellent maternity dress or top, though.

What a sweet, sweet baby, vothgirl!

Tamara, I made pocket diapers for my last baby. LOVE them, and also loved making them. My two favorite patterns happen to be free ones: the Sprout Snap, and Celtic Cloths. the Sprout Snap can be found on Craftsy.com, and just google the other. I think the website is celticclothswholesale.com. Avoid Babyville brand PUL, I didn’t listen to other’s advise, and sure enough, the few I made with it delaminated.

I finished a new bag today for my oldest daughter, the Emmaline Teardrop bag. She needed something to use for her own when traveling, and since this is quite a large bag it fit the bill perfectly. I prefer that each of my children pack their own clothes separately and in their own bag, that way they each keep their mess to themselves, and no arguing over who’s socks or underwear is who’s. And since we have to pay nowadays to check luggage when flying……………..everybody might as well have a carry-on.

The bag turned out extremely cute, I’d love to make one for myself as a purse, if I could figure out how to size it down a little.

I’m cutting out Amy Butler’s Cosmo bag now for my youngest daughter. But first I need to set up my embroidery module and embroider “Matthews” on a quiver strap that my crafty 11 year old son is making for his big brother. (Matthews is a bow brand name) Each of my three older boys just recently got bows, so that is all we are eating and breathing around here lately.

Sorry I got that wrong, Tamara 🙂 Husbands can be funny about babies. Mine usually wasn’t ready to have another one as soon as I, but when I actually got pg it wouldn’t take him long at all to be excited and proud and super-pleased! In fact, I thought we were done after having my last one (no. 6) but he has actually been talking about having another one…..so we shall see.

“peaches growing into watermelons”, hehe! What an apt description 😀

I’m so sorry to hear about your Mother’s passing, RTWG. I can’t imagine losing my Mom. What a comfort to know that she is with God and her suffering is over.

Oh, how exciting, Tamara! A baby on the way after so many years! I personally have no experience with waiting so long to get pg; in fact, we’ve never even “tried” . It’s always just “happened”. But my oldest sister has had to try and wait and wonder for quite a few years, so I partially understand.

And I am so sorry about your fil, and so sorry that you have this overshadowing your joy over the pregnancy. I’ll be praying for you and your family.

I was going over and filling out the new checklist this weekend (in which I discovered that I have 35 O+S patterns!!! including paper patterns of all the first patterns, Spring and Fall 2008, many in both sizes!) and found that there is not a separate Playtime Leggings listed. No big deal to me, but thought the creator might like to know.

Trust me, I am not complaining. I would not have the foggiest notion how to go about putting together something like this! I love it and find it so useful. So thank-you so very much, Kim!!

Or is there only one row of dots on the front? I can’t remember. If there is then you would cut it apart right on the row.

What I would do is cut the front pattern piece apart between the rows of dots that indicate where the front waistband is to be sewn, just cut it right down the center. Then when cutting out the fabric, be sure to add seam allowances to both sides. This way you will be certain that the front waistband will exactly cover the bodice/skirt seam.

Hi, and welcome! I am a VW Bug lover as well! I have never owned one tho’ and don’t see one in my near future. I currently drive a very un-cute 8 passenger Suburban, and a 9-passenger conversion van, and will probably do so until at least some of my 6 children have left the nest. I know exactly what I will get though when the time comes: a baby-blue (or possibly cream) convertible, preferably of the same vintage as myself, ’77. One can dream! 🙂
