Hi Becca, if you lower or scoop out the neckline then you would need to make adjustments to the length of the collar do that it still fits.

I made matching BB dresses for my two older girls and I think they turned out great! My 6 year old loves hers, but my 8 year old complains that the neckline is too tight, especially when she sits down, because it pulls back on her and she feels like it’s choking her. Hi Susan,
If you ever want to find something relating to a particular pattern then the easiest way is to go via the “shop”. Click on the pattern you’re interested in, and you’ll find tabs that will take you to forum discussions, blog posts, or sewn up examples of that pattern.

Hi Tricia, yes the waistband is just one long piece (pattern piece 6).
The only other pattern pieces are the skirt, and the front and back plackets.
Maybe sleep on it and just follow the instructions in the morning. I always find Oliver + S patterns work perfectly if you don’t overthink them, and just do as Liesl says! 🙁 -

Greetings ladies!
I am just starting my first Oliver and S patrern and I am confused on matching the waistband pieces. Is the waistband 1 long strip thay goes around the whole waist? Do I just need to join all three pattern pieces? I know it might be a dumb question, but I can’t get my head wrapped around it tonite.

I think there was a tutorial for this but I missed it. I found the instructions very confusing. why did we use a zipper that was longer than what was needed to begin with? I was just confused the entire time. I know there were some posts about this pattern, but how do I find them? thanks.

There isn’t a list available. It’s something we have started doing within the last couple years. Older styles will not have the PDF layers built in, but newer styles will.

I started with a Singer 1978 and used it for years. I then saved doing alterations and repairs at a local dry cleaners and got a Pfaff machine.
