Liesl Gibson replied to the topic Back wider than front? in the forum liesl + co: all day shirt 7 years ago
It sounds like you haven’t done anything wrong! Keep in mind that the back has extra ease (pleats) for better movement and comfort. Once you try on the muslin I think it will be fine. Keep us posted, ok?

I’m making a small (with added length). I discovered when I was measuring the (nearly) finished muslin that the back is wider than the front and the side seams are not at the side.
Going back to measure the pattern, the back – from the fold to top of side seam – is 12-5/8 in, total 25-1/4 inches.
The front – from the cut line to top of side…[Read more]

Liesl Gibson replied to the topic Reducing width of back panel in the forum liesl + co: everyday skirt 7 years ago
You can reduce it as much as you want as long as you can still get it over your hips. I would suggest keeping an eye on the side panels so they stay at your sides and don’t pull too much toward the back or front.

I’ve made a Muslin. A large. I want it to sit on my natural waist. I sewed a size that should have resulted in 1/2 inch ease at natural waist but I’ve had to severely pull in elastic at back panel (41/2inches to be chopped off elastic). The front seems to fit reasonably well. So I’m thinking of reducing width of back panel. How much would peopl…[Read more]

Sarah replied to the topic sewing machine in the forum off topic 7 years ago
I just bought a Brother Dream Machine 2 and I am attempting stippling by scanning my design. I’ve been able to do it successfully once, however, now when I go into “saved outlines” my current embroidery doesn’t show up, only the previous outlines do. I’m not sure how to get the outline of the embroidery I just scanned to show up in saved outlines now.

Liesl Gibson replied to the topic Changing Neck Line in the forum oliver + s: building block dress 7 years ago
I would suggest altering the neckline to suit her preferences and then using the Peter Pan Collar instructions in the Building Block Dress book to develop a new collar. This will be much simpler than trying to alter the collar that comes with the pattern. I hope that helps!

Todd Gibson replied to the topic Layered PDFs? in the forum about the forums 7 years ago
No, unfortunately, the creation of layers is something that needs to be done when the original pattern is created. There’s no way to take an existing file and add layers to it. The file needs to be completely remade from the ground up. That’s why we’re creating new patterns with layers (it’s a completely different process to develop the pattern so…[Read more]

Thank you so much. I am putting together the sleepover pajama pattern for 2 different grandchildren. With my bad back, I’ve only gotten the pants pattern put together and traced off in the two sizes. Although I really want to make the tops, I don’t see much hope continuing like this.
Do you know…if I were to purchase a pro version of Adobe Acr…[Read more]

Do you have any suggestions for adjusting the fit of the All Day Shirt for a very slim, long body?
Thanks! -

Hi, Liesl. Sorry, I don’t think this is the right forum for this discussion, but I couldn’t find a better one.
Re: Lisette Portfolio pattern (replaced by Lisette Cappuccino pattern)
I’m not sure where whether you’re aware of it, but there seems to be a very active demand for the “rare” Portfolio pattern. I’ve personally seen four sell on ebay…[Read more]
