I have the corduroy teaparty dress still to make but may have to put it aside to get on with a pair of dress pants, vest and shirt for Noah to wear to Chloe’s christening.

Then eventhough I did find something rtw, I want to use one of the butterick Lisette patterns to make and outfit for myself.

I love school holidays also. It means not having to travel in to town everyday. We have been having a few issues with our bus driver and so I have resorted to taking the kids to school. @Linda, I am pretty sure I added it afterwards…. I *think* I sewed the edges and the top but left the bottom free for movement.

Looks like Nicole’s tip works really well. I am in process in of sewing bodice to skirt so can’t tell completely yet, but it’s looking good so far! Thanks,Nicole.

I sew with vintage patterns and have a very large stash. The instructions are usually pretty good, they generally instruct you to clip seams and under stitch and often have lots of notches to help match things up. They often don’t tell you when to neaten your seams, watch out for that.

I hear that cord is super soft– I bet it would make a great sketchbook shirt, too. Maybe a little oversized so it could also function as a lightweight jacket. And use the scraps in a bucket hat!!

Sunny days shorts would be easy as there are no pockets to try and pattern match.
