Gina started the topic How to insert sleeve in Chai tee in the forum liesl + co: chai tee 4 years ago
So I’m making the Chai tee and it has been going very well up until now. I cannot figure out how to insert the sleeve. I have inserted sleeves before, but this is so different I can’t figure it out. I folded and it and should I only be pinning one side? Then what? It looks like from the picture after it’s folded that that side is open, but mine…[Read more]

By the time I paid for plotting and shipping it wouldn’t be affordable. With the 50%off sale going on, I just ordered the paper pattern and the cheapest shipping. I just hate the PDF pattern won’t work out. I print patterns all the time and have never had an issue until this one. If I order any more patterns from here I will be sure to order the…[Read more]

Hi Amie @quilterbee
Please don’t ignore that printing discrepancy. While 1/16″ doesn’t seem much, if you have, for example, a 40″ bust measurement, then the difference ends up being 2&2/2″
That’s definitely enough to end up with a completely wrong sized garment.
One thing I’ve sometimes found works is to print my pattern setting the printer to…[Read more] -

Thanks for the quick reply.
I think I will redo B6567 in rayon or similar fabric. I really like like the look of it. As for the sewing, I can figure the seam finishing since I’m more experienced now. I do need to think and figure places to baste especially around the seam pockets and neckline. Also, I already have B6567 traced out on tracing…[Read more]

You can absolutely do that. Take a look at the Recital Shirt for an example: we offered more of a tuxedo-style band collar for that one, which is basically the collar band with a little point added. I hope that helps!

Tough call, right? The style lines on both are very similar, you’re right. The only real difference is in the neckline, which has gathering in the Cappuccino as opposed to the flatter panels of the Lisette pattern. I think it has to be your call, really. The important part will be to find the right fabric. I’d look for a rayon or a drapey silk,…[Read more]

I am an advanced beginner, having done several garments most of which are Liesl & Co. Patterns now.
I sewed B6567 earlier in my sewing journey with a cotton that was probably too thick and not enough drape. It looked okay. As far as the sewing, I learned a lot and got a lot of practice. Though I preferred to have more handholding on seam…[Read more]

Has anyone ever left off the collar and just did the undercollar for a mandarin collar? I want to make mine sleeveless, do the popover placket and just have a mandarin collar. Thank you, Amie

It’s off such a tiny amount I may just roll with it. I print so may PDF patterns and the test square is always dead on so I’m not sure why this one is a wee bit smaller. Next time I’ll just buy paper patterns from you. Thanks for you help 🙂 Amie

I’m not sure what exactly might be the problem. You should be able to print with A4 without any problem.
I would suggest enabling the rulers in Adobe Reader to check and confirm that the test square is 1″. (It definitely should be….) Once you’ve confirmed that the file is accurate, you’ll know that it’s something in how your device is…[Read more]

I print PDFs patterns all the time, downloading to iBooks and/or Adobe with no problems. The 1” test square is about a 1/16” too small. My printer is on A4. Does my printer need to be on something other than A4? Thank you, Amie

I haven’t, but I think it would be lovely. Challis has a nice drape.

Has anyone made this with rayon challis? I have some printed rayon and not sure this would work with the pattern. I’ve made several before in cotton/linen/corduroy, but this challis is lovely with a border print.
