digital penguin backpack sewing pattern
This cute, child-sized backpack can be made into an adorable penguin by following the instructions to add a few simple embellishments. But let this just be your starting point. Use your imagination to create another creature (perhaps a ladybug), or find a fabric that does the thematic work for you and leave off the embellishments entirely.

Great pattern!!I always love Oliver & S patterns because they are always well designed, have great directions, and are free from errors. I always feel like I am in good hands when I start a project. I made matching backpacks for my kids- ages 3 and 6. The first I made was the penguin from the pattern and the second was a bear that I made up myself. I also used cotton webbing instead of self-fabric straps for the second backpack. I would say it’s a little small for my six year old, but perfect for my 3 year old. I would have used slightly sturdier fabric for the exterior next time- home dec weight or lightweight duck would be perfect. The linen I used was supposed to be heavier, but i ordered it online so it was hard to know what I was getting. I really liked the zipper setting and lining techniques used- it made for a very nice finish.2 of 2 customers found this helpful. Was this helpful? -
