    This smock is perfect for the young artist.     Each of our patterns calls on a unique set of sewing skills. Haven't ever done one of these things before? Don't worry. We'll walk you through it, step by step.

    After successfully sewing this pattern, you will have developed the following skills: sewing curved seam, sewing French seam, edgestitching.

    Lightweight fabric like quilting cotton, chambray, or linen.

    Two 7" x 1" strips of lightweight fusible interfacing, 1 yard of 3/8"-wide elastic, 2 snaps or 1/2"–1" Velcro patches, coordinating thread.

    The instructions were clear and easy to follow. I made three super cute smocks so far. I just wish the type would print out darker, as black instead of gray.

    Despite being an experienced sewer and pattern drafter, this pattern was a lifesaver. It sewed up perfectly, with a perfect amount of growing ease, and was a much faster sew drafting on the fly. I made it up in plastic backed PUL, recommended, but just think about a coordinating bias/ neck facing fabric. Great for kiddo's with huge heads,mine does and he still doesn't need to undo the snap at the back of the neck.

    I made 3 of these for Christmas presents and the kids(and parents) loved them. I found the pattern very straight forward and every step was explained well. If I make more, I will probably make them a little longer-just my preference.

    This was a simple and effective design and it was very easy to print and cut out the pattern. The hardest part was selecting fabric to suit Miss 5's fashion style! I think the sizing was about right, but the beauty of an art smock is that you can err on the large size and it will still fit. This was a very quick and enjoyable project and look forward to the next one.

    I needed some paint smocks for my kids and didn't want to just go the "old t-shirt" route. This pattern was perfect. Very detailed. I made 3 different sizes. I used snaps instead of velcro.

    This pattern is easy to sew and works very well, I made an art smock for my grandson going into prep, I would highly recommend this pattern. I have sewn velcro onto the back so it is easy for him to get in and out of the smock. He was thrilled with his shark art smock.
