I just wanted to add in here, going with the higher cutting tables, if possible, go with a higher sewing table, to be able to sew, standing up, if possible. It all depends for me as well. Type of fabric, seams needing to be open or pressed to one side will dictate what I do first. I use a combination.
And, I too serge after clipping my seams, I thought I was cheating by doing that until one day when I noticed in a RTW garment they had tone the same thing! 🙂 Nice to know we are all in good company.…[Read more]

I’ll vote for same fabric ribbing as well. 🙂
I would also consider raising the armscye a wee bit. When converting a sleeved pattern to a sleeveless, you usually raise the underarm since there will be no sleeve and this will lessen the gaping under the arm.

Liesl, that is exactly why it took me two years to make a decision. I feared it would be a great hassle to switch the machine back and forth. Since this machine is so new to me, I haven’t given it enough time to really put it to the test of switching, though it’s really not as bothersome as I was initially thinking.
