Our Biggies had a New Years Eve party and I think we may make a tradition of that. They had a lot of fun and so did Jed and I.
Happy New Years, sweet sewing friends!

One more thing – if you buy the press you will later be able to put in metal snaps too – the pliers only work with resin.
mkhs, do you find the sew-in snaps stay put ok? My grandmother always used to use them on the close she sewed for us and they were durable – but whenever I’ve done them, they seem so loose! I must not be sewing them properly. -

I prefer the adorableness of sleepover pjs…..but I plan to make more bedtime story….with adjustments like snaps for insode tie because its harder to get off for the kid and easier for us to do up.
I like the pants on the sleepover because its easier to get multiple seasons out of it because of the cuffs.
It doesn’t help that maria is growing…[Read more] -

Cuteness on those pjs, Sewitbe. I am following because I have neither pattern and am paralyzed by indecision. 🙂

I like the Bedtime Story for smaller people. The Sleepover appeals more to my older children. When my son was 2 I did snap tabs instead of ties. Helps with the “untie” factor on a busy toddler.

Now I have to re-look at them….I think the couture sewing techniques will really teach me more than the basics, but I don’t wear dresses ever (jeans and t-shirts for me!). The knit t-shirt one looks good, but I can’t imagine 9 lessons to make a t-shirt….but, that’s something I may actually make myself and wear. Thanks guys for your opinions!

I’ve not gone through the whole class but I learned more in the first 10 minutes of the couture sewing class with Susan Khaljie (sp?) than I ever knew about sewing. Many of the techniques are not ones that I use on a regular basis – it is couture after all – but just watching her work is fascinating to me. There is also a Sew-Along knit class that…[Read more]

Nicole replied to the topic After School Pants Pattern Issues in the forum oliver + s: after-school 12 years ago
I have made size 2t and size 8 and there was a little ‘creepage’ that needed to be trimmed but I put that down to possibly sewing inaccurate seams and the slippery cord I was using.

I have made three pairs and have not had this issue. Are you sure that maybe you traced the wrong line on one pattern piece? Could you maybe take a picture and put on flicker of the problem?
