i had prewashed it but not dried it (i cant even remember why! i usually dry stuff for kids clothes). all the tips im finding for softening linen are to wash on hot and dry.
am i totally out of luck? if i wash it and put it in the…[Read more]

@meleliza – oh no! i actually dont miss not having a girl to sew for – there are lovely things one can sew for little boys, especially while the are still a bit small, ive made the tea party playsuit no fewer than 8 times now (granted i have twins so its just one in each size).

It was a disappointed in the last round to have nothing for boys, should we get our hopes up this time for those of us who dont have any girls?

sosew replied to the topic your wish list in the forum sewing with liesl + co and oliver + s 9 years ago
my wish is some interesting pants for boys that are more old fashioned – less cargo pant, more knickerbocker. i wish the boy patterns had the same charm that goes into many of the girl ones! but maybe parents that dress their boys like that are less common.

just curious about shipping, I went to order $18 of fabric and the shipping was $22. I know there is a sale but it still seemed quite high, just curious if this was normal.

sosew started the topic paper pattern available in the forum oliver + s: tea party 9 years ago
I have one of the original 0-24m paper patterns and wondering if anyone would like to purchase it from me for the cost of a digital pattern plus shipping (i want to replace it with the 2-5yr version for myself).
The pattern pieces are all uncut.
I know some people prefer paper patterns and this one is no longer in print.
Thanks!

I finished 2 of the hats, one is a polar bear, the other a lion.

I did something stupid and now have a very very small hole in a somewhat obvious place in a jersey knit dress.
It’s quite small, just one stitch worth but it is there 🙁
What do I do? Put interfacing on the back? Something else? Try to come up with a patch to put there?

sosew replied to the topic amounts for two different fabrics?? in the forum oliver + s: playtime 9 years ago
I decided to do a button in the end so it isnt an issue 🙂
I have to finish the hem and then send it off. My 3 year old (boy) saw it and tried it one for me, hilariously cute!
Thanks for all the advice 🙂

Better late than never…
One on the left is made out of wool from papa’s old toggle coat, the right is new Melton (a bit lighter weight but still warm enough for now). Both have train print cotton lining. A few more days of cold but not too cold weather to try them out starts tomorrow!

those are all so lovely, thanks!!
i think they are so big now the music class blouse/puppet show shorts is no longer appropriate…(cue psychological evaluation of what it means that I want to dress my only kids to look younger, ha!) . But perhaps just the shorts could work. I just realized I don’t have their size though, I only have the…[Read more]
