@sarvi Yes, they take very little fabric. I had a couple of “diaper cuts” (slightly larger than fat quarters) of girly knit fabric lying around from when I was sewing cloth diapers for my girls years ago and I got two larger pairs out of one cut, and four of the smaller size out of the second cut!

@motherof5, I’d love to see the forget-me-not purse. My youngest sister’s boyfriend will be proposing to her sometime this month and I have saved the dress my mother wore to my and my other sister’s wedding. I want to make something out of it for her.

I am thinking shorts with singlet tops as pjs @etc3 does it each year so well.

I have never lengthened a skirt that much Charlene but I would consider adding length in two places. I would divide the the panel into thirds and add the length at these lines.
Does that make sense? So you don’t end up with too exaggerated an A-line.

I’m with the group: I wash and dry my fabric before cutting and then line dry after sewing. The wash and dry is a just-in-case precaution–because every once in a while something sneaks into the drier. But rayon is a pretty durable fabric, for the most part, so you should be fine with machine washing.
