With the May weather though you will be heading into Summer right? That will mean lots of little bloomer pants – cool comfortable and very simple to swap over. The layette pattern is truly and fantastic pattern – and it came at a very fortunate time.
I am onto the final bubble today and will hopefully also get the chance to cut out the puppet…[Read more]

I do a lot of darning by using a small piece of soft interfacing ironed to the back, over the hole, and then I hand sew it with a matching thread making sure not to pull it too tight. A good press afterwards flattens things down.
Often it will just look like a slub in the fabric.

Ha! Thank you McStitch, pretty sure any yummy treats would not survive my sewing room in sufficient numbers to be presented as a gift.
I’ll have a peek at the Amy Butler also, thank you Robin!

Oooh, rotary blades are so super sharp, please do be very careful. I just use a seam ripper for everything. It’s a bit slower than ripping out an ordinary seam as there’s more thread, but it’s still just thread loops so the concept is the same. Have you got one of these things?

Thankyou ladies! This one will have mummy made things from day one.
I did the buttonholes and the buttons on the little white bubble this morning before the usual Saturday run around (and I was treated to lunch by the hubby as a belated birthday and a thanks to our worker for helping this harvest which incidentally has quite completed for us). So…[Read more]

Tamara, she will have the most beautiful wardrobe!
I’ve been making some fabric butterfly ornaments to give as gifts. https://www.flickr.com/photos/73669617@N07/15929695546/in/pool-sewlisette
I’ve also been sewing another explorer vest is a beautifully plush burgundy courduroy. I just hope it’s masculine enough as I’m running out of Christmas…[Read more] -

I also have the Janome 1000cpx. I use it at least once a week. I love having separate machines so they can be set up ready to go all the time and I can swap from one to the other half way through a project 🙂
I really like the extra room in the harp of the Janome. There has been multiple times when I’ve been very glad it’s there. I also use…[Read more] -
