I’m going to start my first maritime top, and I’m not sure about the size I should cut. My bust measurement (36”) points to an 8, but I was considering the possibility of enlenghten it a couple of inches to make it reach my hips, that are not an 8, but a 10 or 11…(40 1/2”). Sewing for Yourself 9 years agoI will be traveling to USA in a couple of weeks, and I would love to buy some Lisette fabric plus some good cotton knits. It’s a business travel and it will be hard to find much time for browsing, so I would really appreciate some help. Claire, I’ve seen in other patterns that you should fold your fabric right sides together for double thickness, right side up for single thickness.

I’m starting my first parachute polo. I should “transfer the placket markings to the wrong side of the shirt-front piece” now. Is there a template with those markings? Sew Alongs 9 years agoAlmost done! Tomorrow I’ll sew the cuffs and the hem. And I’ll share a picture. Or two… I think I like the inside with the neat French seams at least as much as the outside!

I have already made a gallery tunic and I had some trouble hemming it with the french seams. This time I wanted to know what to do before going with french seams again.
