Robin those pants are now on my list – seeing as we went shopping for “work pants” for my 9 year old in the men’s section yesterday! I had no idea this pattern existed until now!

Ottobre Design is hands down my favorite source for teen sized sewing patterns.

All I can say is ouch! I have done that on occassion myself but wasn’t having to nurse a new baby when I did it so I completely understand the huge inconvenience and obvious discomfort. We use Manuka honey alot to heal wounds. I wonder if this will speed up recovery? I know it is great with cuts and blisters and it draws any infection out. In any…[Read more]

Good luck Murray!
Jed has his articulated heavy vehicle licence so he does the carting during harvest.
Air conditioned rig, local paper, waiting in line…. sounds nice to me in 40 d heat.
I burnt my hand last night, so badly it made me ill!

It is a tricky time with a huge gap in the pattern market.
Burda do a very groovy line but the instructions can be a bit lacking and things tend to be very cropped.
Deer&Doe make lovely patterns with teeny sizes but they are a bit dressy for your average teen.
Of course the lovely Liesl+Co pattern have small sizing but may be a bit sophisticated…[Read more] -

I wonder if you could add elastic to the back waistband for some ease?
That would be awesome for my 6 child waist line. -

I agree, I am starting from scratch with Beatrix’s wardrobe. It is great fun and surprising how few ‘outfits’ she actually needs.
Love this thread!

Liesl Gibson replied to the topic where on the waist do they fit? in the forum liesl + co: girl friday culottes 11 years ago
The culottes are designed to sit at the natural (or actual) waist, and I do think they look better worn that way. I tend to wear most pants and jeans lower on the waist, but I would encourage you to wear these higher. We’ve sort of forgotten where our actual waists are over the past ten years of fashion, haven’t we?

Maybe we need a sew along for knock offs of each other’s work? It is pretty special that set.

Yes, we could do a sew-along! You may need to give me a little time to prepare for that. We’ve got the School Days Jacket coming up next month, and then the holidays will be upon us, but maybe in January? We’d also like to do a Bistro Dress sew-along.

I like contrast belt idea, and I think teal sounds amazing!
I, personally, would have just the belt as contrast and have neutral buttons, black, bone or leather. Consider a buckle rather then a tie. I made one for Tildy with a vintage buckle Karen sent me https://www.flickr.com/photos/motherof5/9689562427/in/set-72157632815351345
