You are right, you do know the answer.
It won’t go over her head.I have topstitched that seam in a #4 stitch length and then had it be too firm.
Sorry to confirm what you knew.

Since I made up my mind to clean my studio, I opted to clean, oil, and service all my machines (The 6 that I use regularly, not the others, since I serviced the entire collection within the past 6 months). But, having completed the task, I’m glad I decided to do all of that. There’s nothing quite like sitting down to a freshly oiled machine to…[Read more]

Last night I made up a black peplum blouse in stretch cotton shirting for myself, complete with a monogrammed “J”. Today, it’s clean the sewing studio, since I went to JoAnn’s yesterday and bought a storage box for my excess embroidery threads, picked up a few big spools of black and white guttermann, and robbed them of any spare bolt boards they…[Read more]

I have the 770. I just google “free appliqués” and “free embroidery” and have found a palethora of free files that way. I save them to my external hard drive, and only put what I am planning to use ASAP on my embroidery file only thumb drive (a regular thumb drive, with no files but embroidery files on it). You just have to make sure the files…[Read more]

Hi @caraskates, I think they will look adorable.
I have a tute here http://fiveandcounting-motherof5.blogspot.com.au/2011/08/short-cut-sailboat-pants.html if you would like a look at the construction (apologies for the dated graphics, I was in my colour phase)

Nicole replied to the topic Zipper (or other closure) for the quilted vest in the forum oliver + s: school days 8 years ago
I remember that style jacket being very popular in the 70’s.They were often fastened with a frog closure.
Would that work for you?Or you could finish the edge and then baste an open end zipper under the front edge and then topstitch in place?
I hope that is some help?

@housecall, if I may be so bold, here is a tute http://fiveandcounting-motherof5.blogspot.com.au/2014/03/the-garden-party-tutorial-part-one.html
Unless your ribbon is very firm I would be inclined to sew it on top rather then replace the yoke and waistband.
*Love* this pattern, have fun.

Yay @angelwingneedlearts, I am so pleased.
Three inches would be no problem at all, I added that to a swish little black hanky linen version.~Nicole~

I have added length to the Portfolio with is sort of the ‘prequel’ to this lovely pattern.
I added it to the bottom, continuing the slight ‘A’ line effect.
Don’t forget to add to all the panels. 🙂
I hope that helps.
