I made the tiny size for Trixie but she only wore is a few times. It was the getting on that was the problem, it was fine once on but chubby baby arms don’t always bend the way you want them too.
And my babies are very placid and easy to dress.I would make the 6-12 month in your position, you have it for next summer as well then. Also, if you…[Read more]

Sounds exciting!
@lilypadmontana, if you use cloth nappies, make the bodysuit in the second size. It will fit for longer. And you want it to fit, it is so cute! -

What a fun idea! Unfortunately I have a backlog right now but if I can finish up quickly I’ll join!

I have this pattern and haven’t yet made it. I was thinking of making it up even though the weather has turned and is definitely not strappy top time.
I’m wondering about how the top would go with a bodysuit underneath?
I plan to make the 3-6 month size at the moment with a view of sizing up as she grows.

Another insomnia-drivn late night at the machine. I learned last week not to attempt anything other than the dead simple at tht time of night, so I made another maternity top and skirt. I made the last two tops super simple with no ruching in hopes that I can also use them during those first post partum weeks when nothing else fits.

Welcome Lynn, I will be looking forward to seeing a photo of your completed badminton nightgown.
I am up to setting in the sleeves on the puppet show dress.

Lightning McStitch replied to the topic Any thoughts on the Sunday Brunch Jacket from flannel? in the forum oliver + s: sunday brunch 10 years ago
The only one I’ve made was flannel and i thought it worked very well. The Woollies flannels are lovely, I made a Music Class shirt in a herringbone flannel from them and it washed and wore perfectly. I say go for it. It will be more a heavy shirt weight than a jacket but the fabric will behave just fine.
You’ll be able to spot my flannel Sunday…[Read more] -

My only hesitation would be how the flannel itself would wear. I think it would sew up fine into the jacket, but I have yet to find a flannel that doesn’t fade and pill horribly after a few washes. I’d subject a sizable swatch to some rough treatment first.
Also, you’d probably want to use a lighter cotton for the bias bindings – flannel on…[Read more]

Thanks LMcS! I do have the Woolly Nylon but have not been able to get it to work for me – maybe I should invest in another bobbin case. Cheaper than the coverstitch, anyway …

Oh, I didn’t take it at all personally, no worries. Just thinking in a broader way about what we do and how it affects the world.
We buy her uniforms from the required seller, only plain white shirts, socks, and shoes are allowed to be purchased elsewhere. I buy her jeans and swimsuits, she has one pair of each … hm. That’s pretty much it. Any…[Read more]
