@georgeandizzy that’s awesome! I made one out of a piece of printer paper but the curved edge on the one in your link looks easier to use. Picking one up on my next trip to Joann’s!

Just a tip — if you post these changes in the caption of the photo, they will be more easily available for anybody who searches the flickr pool for inspiration and comes across your dress. You can include notes about what size you made and what fabric you used as well, people often are curious about that.

I am sorry Masha.
If it is any comfort, the moonboot offers a lot of support. Jed polished all our timber floors wearing one.All the best with the birth, I will be thinking of you.

So this baby is due in a week and a half. My husband has been on crutches for the last week with a presumed sprain. Today’s X-ray confirmed my suspicion that it is not just a sprain. He will find out for sure on Thursday but the specialist suspects he will need surgery to fix a bone that regrew improperly after an undiagnosed fracture sustained…[Read more]

Made my son a pair of swim trunks using the Sunny Day shorts pattern yesterday. Tonight I will cut out another Cosi swimsuit for my oldest girl with plans to sew it up tomorrow.

Sewing for Yourself 10 years agoI love the Gallery so much, I just wish it was a two piece collar. I can see it becoming another Portfolio dress. Hunted down and sort after.
The Maritime is divine, such a slimming and flattering style.
The skirt is so cute, I am concerned how it will look on me as I have a very thick waist and poochy tummy but I love it.
I can see how much…[Read more]

Sewing for Yourself 10 years agoI can definitely see myself making all three. The skirt will probably come first, especially if I can make it fit onto a remnant of thick wool jersey that I have. I think it will make a smashing winter skirt.
The maritime top will undoubtedly get made, but I may already be at saturation point with my store bought St James tops. But at the price…[Read more] -

Sewing for Yourself 10 years agoI really love the Gallery Top – it reminds me of the Tova tunic which is a shape I love. I never made the Tova because my research indicates it doesn’t work well on large busts. I’m wondering how the Gallery will be for a large bust – I don’t see any darts – but I can’t make one for myself until after baby anyway and by then I’m sure there will…[Read more]

Audrey started the topic Reversible Swing set? in the forum oliver + s: swingset 10 years ago
Has anyone thought about or tried making this pattern reversible? The skirt is fully lined, so it seems like it would be pretty easy. The buttonholes for the drawstring casing would be on both the lining and the skirt so the drawstring could be drawn out either side.
For the top, would you just have to add another ruffle and sandwich them both…[Read more] -

I LOVE both tops and if this month were not so insanely busy I’d have ordered and made them already. I absolutely love the Maritime top, it’s one of my favorite styles and I have a few that all have something sligh…[Read more]
