It is a good question. The sleeve is kimono style and on a bias of sorts.
I think I would shorten by measuring from the sleeve cuff back, taking equal amounts from the sleeve front and the sleeve back. I would suggest leaving then sleeve a little longer then you anticipate too. You can always cut more off.

So, we have had this pattern in our ‘stash’ for quite awhile, just waiting for the perfect opportunity to delve into sewing for ourselves {gulp}. Well, the perfect opportunity has arisen. . .capris with no matching blouse. However, we are about to be in the midst of a HOT summer in the South. I adore the styling of the 3/4 length sleeves, but am…[Read more]

Oh my goodness, poor child and poor mama! I hope that she stays on track and doesn’t have to go through any more torture!

The new Swedish princesses got rather unusual names. Estelle was born 3 years ago to the Crown Princess and Leonore last year to princess Madeleine.
Leonore will become a big sister on June – I wonder what they pick for him/her.
Oh and June will also see another Royal wedding (the last one for a while now) when Prince Carl Philip weds miss Sofia…[Read more] -

@dubhels2003 You got your wish! She’s a Charlotte Elizabeth Diana.
I think the Diana-part was a given, more or less. I’m a Charlotte myself (well, Charlotta to be honest, but close enough) and I don’t mind.

Another that has not sewn the Library dress but I have made many outfit from for my children.

I adore sewing the stiffer silks, they are easy to handle and sew well.
