They are great jeans. I like the Clever Charlotte patterns (am I allowed to say that in here?) but haven’t bought any yet.

Someone at work was making a lunchtime dash to Spotlight for a mother’s day present, so I hitched a ride. Now I have another metre (I needed about 10x20cm) of the broadcloth. I’ll stash the contrasting waistband idea, maybe for the remnant of the remnant of this piece…. (and, barring the buttons I needed, I bought nothing else. Such control)

    Well done you!

This topic is about all the sewing we are doing,so you are free to share what ever you like.

I certainly couldn’t pass up a trip to Spotlight!

A precious day off and time up my sleeve to sew but instead I am cutting out the tops to the pajama pants I made last weekend.

Next I will cut out some skirts and pants in corduroy. I’m thinking of a sailboat skirt upsized for a birthday party next Friday teamed with ….. something I am yet to decide.

After that are two trench coats and if I am lucky a warm dressing gown for miss IG to go home from production performance nights in. We shall see about that one.

This probably belongs in the mistakes thread…

I thought I’d bought some more of the same shade of purple broadcloth, but nope, it’s quite different.

Now I’ve still got a Hopscotch skirt to sew with no waistband, and (yet another) metre of fabric for some other project.

So, TWO hopscotch skirts coming up, one with a contrasting waistband after all….

Have to put all normal clothes sewing on hold. I’ve been asked to make a harem girl costume for another girl in the production. The show is in two weeks (a little under actually) and we have the first full dress rehearsal scheduled for Sunday.

Luckily the pattern is in reach and I sent FIL to Spotlight yesterday to get some Blue Japanese Lamee (spelling?) and some braid – he bombed on the braid but after searching the store for what they told me was hours and two emergency panicky phonecalls (of which I didn’t actually get until 1.30pm due to no reception at work), they managed to figure out what I was talking about.

NEVER send a man to do woman’s work! That was my lesson but do I ever learn??? Nah!

So bang goes the new party outfit for Friday and I shall make sure this costume is well and truly done and dusted by Friday night so I can get back to the ever growing list of things.

Happy sewing ladies. Love looking at your creations and hopefully I can find my usb cable in amongst the “to be sorted” box from my sewing area makeover so that you can see that I really have been (trying to anyway) sewing too, not just talking about the possibility there of etc.

I just got my sailboat pattern in the mail today and I am almost done with the baby’s pants. I am so excited to finish too! I used Nicole’s tutorail on her blog for teh constrution of the pants and I am quit happy how they are coming out. All I have to do is the bottom hem in the morning. I think I will have to make a pair for Sweet pea too. (I just love the way the sailboat pants look with the 2+2 top beachmom made!!)

Yeah, so I didn’t pack away the sewing machine. The movers come Tuesday, and I spent today sewing a voile Class Picnic top. That’s my fifth CP in two months. I want to sew more …

Ok Ladies, I need some help. I am looking for some shot cottons to make a couple of dresses for my girls for the summer and I can not seem to find them anywhere. No one locally carries them and the normal stops online do not have them either. Where do you get yours?

    Thanks,

    Erin

Are you after shot cottons by a particular designer? I THINK I saw some on Quilthome but I will have to check again – Kaffe Fassett??? Will have to check for you but I haven’t actually used any – none in my stash anyway yet want to so this is intriguing. Can I join the hunt with you?

Emstone – I’m actually in the process of starting my own (my life’s dream job) on-line fabric store. I just got six bolts of Kaffe Fassett shot cotton yesterday – email me if you’re interested in buying – janiceharris4839 at gmail dot com – my website’s still a work in progress with my husband and oldest son working on it!

I buy my shot cotton from Quilt home http://quilthome.com/Kaffe_Fassett/Kaffe_Fassett_Collection-Shot_Cottons

    It appears they have re-stocked!

Just looked at Quilthome too – $8.50 a yard but wow! Juliamom2009 how exciting to find out you are starting your own store! Congrats on that.

Half made blue japanese lamee harem pants sitting on the cutting table waiting to be completed and will cut out the top tonight after work. Can’t complete the pants until Friday after an emergency shopping trip. But will be glad when all this is over.

This is addictive isn’t it. I’ve just been trawling the pages and pages of Flickr photos and gathering/stealing ideas. Still, there are worse things to be spending your time online gawping at…

I’ve got two Hopscotch skirts cut out, but just recieved a notice of a parcel at the post office. It’ll either be my Music Box Jumper pattern and children at Play border print, or some lovely border print i found on Spoonflower. Either way I can see a seasonally inappropriate, quite involved, project dress coming on.

I suspect my family may stage an intervention and reclaim the dining table one day soon…..

Oh you sound like me, more ideas than I have time. But oh it fun!!

I just finshed up another pair of sail boat pants for baby next onto a pair for my toddler. Then I have to get to the graduation shirt and pants for youngest K5 graduation coming this next month.

Juliamom2009 – I just sent you an e-mail to get your shop information. Thanks ladies for all of the great suggestions.

I have some summer pajamas in the works for my girls as well as some cotton princess dresses for the dress up trunk. We have my youngest daughters 2nd birthday tomorrow so I need to wrap presents and finish the cake tonight. After that I plan on making two Tea Party Dresses with pink polished cotton for the skirt and a polished cotton in a pink and white check for the bodice. We have a trip planned to the beach for Memorial Day and I want to have the dresses done in time so we can take some nice pictures on the beach. Wish me luck on getting everything done on time.
