I have been working my way through the mending pile, wearing my hair shirt. π
I really hope to start a Music Class blouse for Liddy today. sigh….
I finished the pants yesterday and have been working on the bodysuit – only sleeves, sides seams and the bottom part to go. Oh and poppers!
Next I aim to trace bigger sized patterns ready.
I just finished a gorgeous bright blue courduroy and floral short Tea Party Playsuit for a friend’s baby girl due in a month. This is the fourth Tea Party item I’ve made this week.
I’m planning on moving onto the School Days Coat for the first time, in purple swirly courduroy, lined with fleece π
We had no power yesterday for much of the day so sewing couldn’t be done. I did make a start on tracing some 6-12 month sized items ready to forge ahead on them before they are actually required. It will work well with a busy winter schedule.
I’m working on a size 7 School Days coat. It’s got a purple pinwale courduroy outer, fleece scraps interlining and navy satin lining with purple board cloth hood lining! I’m constructing the linings first then the outer π
Have fun with the coat Heidi. It’s such a lovely pattern. Many little steps leading to a summit of awesomeness!
What have I been up to? Well, I can’t make a Fairy Tale dress without imagining another, so I’ve just cut a second. This one will be simple, no collar, no sleeves, and a pleated skirt.
This week I sewed another Knight Hoodie. This time for my nephew. Man that’s a cute pattern.
I recently made a pair of modified Hide and Seek dresses that I’m delighted with, but they’re for a blog post so I have to keep them under wraps…..
Lurve that Knight Hoodie, Hugo wants one!
I look forward to your reveal Shelley.
I finished up the knit Music Class blouse and Lunch Box culottes for Liddy, for a sneaky school uniform. She is very pleased and gave the culottes two thumbs up.
Next up, Hugo’s turn as the Twins doubled up last time. The Thread Theory Pea Coat in charcoal wool.
Off to trim, glue, repeat……
Got to make the 3-6 month size in the lullaby layette asap! Only 8 weeks old and bursting out of them already. Too late! Baby girl is summoning!
I’ve finished up the first of four gifts, and the next two should be pretty quick sews. I’m doing a lot of swatching for the fourth since I want to incorporate a few different small details I’ve been really liking. It’s funny how far from the original a given idea can evolve over time (and Pinterest). Right now I’m working on a certain style of beading that takes inspiration from ceramics, funnily enough. I hope the recipient likes it!
I’m back to working on the purple school days coat. It’s going to be very warm and cosy, courduroy, interlined with think fleece and a satin lining!
I had a sewing win the other night. I managed to make a lullaby bodysuit and pants in one go.
We need to see photos!!! I love baby photos!
I spent last weekend making last minute Harry Potter cape’s for a friend’s two children. I can’t say as I really enjoyed it, but she really is “that kind” of friend so I didn’t mind. They turned out well enough. I’m still kicking myself for being too lazy to switch to black serger thread.
I’ve got some picnic shorts and a badminton top cut from some chambray and liberty scraps. I’m looking forward to stealing some time to give them a start. I’ve got handwork going on a fairytale dress.
@mcholley1 we’ll be sewing twins this week, I just cut out a skirt and top in chambray (linen, does that still count as chambray? it’s a red/white crossweave) and Liberty.
Say, any ideas what to sew for a golfing birthday party? I was thinking Lunchbox tee and culottes.
Coating cut for Hugo’s peacoat, onto the lining.
Sarvi, the culottes would be perfect, what about a Jumprope polo top?
I’ll second Nicole’s culottes and Jumprope polo π
I’ve finished the school days coat. A very satisfying sew but definitely not a quick project. I’ll make another one but not immediately.
I’m think I’ll make my purple lace Swoon Scarf Neck Cardigan. But first I want to use the Penny Pinafore pattern to add some princess seams to the back. If it works well I might make the aqua/teal one too.
