What are you sewing now?

I made myself a modified Continental blouse today, taking lots of photos so that I can put a mini tute together.
I took the shoulders back to a size 8, removed a lot of ease from the sleeve cap but added ease to the waist.
I now have good arm movement and it doesn’t cling to my tummy.
I used soft denim and topstitched with orange jeans thread.
Super pleased with the result.
I am drafting off the Seashore dress for my great-niece now. I think I will go with the size 2t….she is evidently very chubby.

I would love to see the sleeve cap ease modifications as I think this is one I may need.

Having the best solo food fight ever! I’m up to spreading spaghetti and meatballs all over the negative space! Fun!
Hopefully the quilting will be finished today and I can hand stitch the binding down. Then it will be down to finishing off some clothing projects and working on a school shorts knockoff that fits.

Oh I forgot to ask… Nicole where do you buy your jeans thread as Spotlight doesn’t have it?
I purchased two Jalie patterns yesterday to try out. One is the jeans pattern which Angela Wolf recommended in her designer jeans class on craftsy. Slowly the collection of items is coming together. I might be ready to get started before winter at this rate.

Love the name! So I had to check it out. I’ve heard lots of petite women complaining there are no patterns for them, so I bet this is a good market niche.

I had butterflies in my stomach today… cutting into some of my most precious, untouchable fabric (some Belle & Boo that I’ve been hoarding for sometime now)! I figure my little girl is only getting bigger so there is no better time than now to break out the lovely fabrics and make some pretty things for her with them. It’s going to be a bubble dress and I’m actually getting a bit excited now that it’s almost all done.

How is it that I’ve never made this gorgeous pattern before? Oh I wish there were more hours in the day… too many lovely patterns, not enough hours! 🙂

I’ve got a few things I’d like to work on/get done today. Finish up the white cord and lace jacket to match the seashore dress, I had run out of white thread and needed a run to spotlight! Add the ribbon waist to a LTTS Tutu, sew some buttons onto a the party sundress and sew a little ships steering wheel onto a nautical tea party playsuit.
11 years ago LINKWorking on Field Trip raglans for the girls to go with their tiered Lazy Days skirts. I have just hemming to do on the first raglan, but despite careful cutting and sewing my stripe-matching is less than ideal and I somehow sewed the neckband on with uneven stretch. I’m not very motivated to go back and fix it particularly since it would mean picking out overlocking.

Tamara, it is donkey years old but if I find it anywhere I will grab some and post it to you.
I finished up my Continental blouse and tute. Seriously, this is what sewing is all about, making something that fits so nicely!
RTWG, if it is a t-shirt I would be inclined to leave it.
Oh, V, I love the Puppet Show, love love love it!
They are nice patterns Melanie but the PDF will have you saying words the baby should’t hear….
More gifts Heidi? You are so generous. I hope you received Lidia’s thank you note.

Yes Nicole, I did receive Liddy’s thank you note, it was a lovely surprise 🙂
Nicole almost all my sewing, especially if Oliver and S, is destined for gifts with no children of our owdn 🙁 I do sew for myself and my husband but mostly gets given away. We have 9 kis who are like nieces and nephews who get most of the sewing and sometimes I sew something just because! Thoses last things go into my “present cupboard” 🙂
Rtwg I wouldn’t worry too much about the neckband. I made a tshirt a couple of years ago and it ended up with a very stretched neckband. However he loved the shirt and it is still being worn more than 18 months later on regular rotation!

Oh well, you all know how I feel about PDF patterns! 🙂 I *still* have the fabric for my everyday skirt dry cleaned and hanging in my closet because I just haven’t had the time to trapse all over town finding a &*%$!!!#&* large scale print shop. I really want to have an everyday skirt, I really think it will be the best pattern ever, but the PDF thing is nothing short of infuriating.

The Everyday Skirt pattern was pretty easy to tape together. It’s worth it.
Just in the process of fitting an Attache Dress. So far so good. I used the FBA from the Late Lunch Tunic.
And finishing off an Amy Butler Birdie Sling. Bit of a palate cleanser from the fitting.

I would just glue the Liesl+Co PDF myself Melanie. Its the best PDF.
This one had no layout or matching codes. (Or somehow they were not printed)
Oooh Robin, very keen to see your Attache dress. I have the smaller size pattern but I think I need to size up.

I think I am going to have to bite the bullet and buy the everyday skirt pattern, I am thinking the wool I bought for Sarah’s dress would be a cute skirt for me. Them we would mother-daughters outfits. : )
