I agree, I love the ‘selfies’ it gives us a chance to see the clothes on real bodies. I always feel so good about myself after reading all your lovely comments.

Yes, I also like seeing the range of body types, help me get a better sense of what might work well for my shape.

This is not exactly news, but since I’m sick at the moment and super out of it, I’ve been sticking to small projects I can do on the couch. Wrapped what seemed like every marble in the house in linen with rubber bands to try out a few different dye styles when I’m feeling better. Rubber bands are very rough on your fingers! Stole my kid’s C-clamps and woodworking boards too for an accordion-fold experiment. Should be fun!

So sorry you’re feeling ill, Sarvi. I hope you’re feeling better soon! Looking forward to seeing the results of your dyeing experiments!

My big news is that I looked at the weather forecast this evening, and it looks like we might hit 10C tomorrow (Sunday) and 13C on Tuesday! Woohoo! It’s been such a long, hard winter. This video pretty much sums up our spring so far: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wkDvqQKGgDA

Get well soon Sarvi. I can’t wait to see your dyeing.

    That is so funny S!

We have no idea in South Australia, 15 dC is a cold day here! (59 Fahrenheit)

But…. we did get to 46dC for days on end. (114.8 Fahrenheit)

Two weeks until school holidays. Yippee! I am running out of lunchbox ideas.

Nicole, do your kids take sandwiches? Or are they able to/open to the idea of a hot packed lunch? Ameneh couldn’t pack hot food in pre-K, but I used to take one of those Japanese vacuum-bottle lunches — kind of a fat thermos with three tubs that stacked inside. I’d take leftovers from dinner (which I know you don’t have since you have a Hugo!). But they’re easy to pack and open up a lot of options, like rice and stew, soups, etc. If you can see my flickr groups, there’s one called ‘Mr Bento’ or something like that. Some of the photos are mostly about presentation and making little smiley faces out of food, but a lot also have links to recipes.

I’ll post a photo of my pre-dyed preparations. It’s been fun. I want to get a book on shibori techniques.

Susanne, I hope this time it’s really Spring!

I hope you feel better soon Sarvi! I think I need a sit down craft to keep me busy too, sounds like so much fun!

Grrr, I posted a long (and quite possibly boring) essay about my children’s lunches and the internet dropped out!

Thank you Sarvi, all ideas gratefully accepted. They are not fussy but they seem to what to eat all the time.

    Funny about that….

Sharon, do you do embroidery? When I was recovering from my surgery I sewed rosebuds on Matilda’s singlets and knickers.

Blech, this ear/throat pain just won’t quit and I’m still mostly couch and bed bound. But the upside has been getting to watch Aaron spring into action. Such an incredibly loving, gentle, patient father. Way more patience than I have for repetitive toddler games and songs, he’s taken her to her park play date and a birthday party, plus running all the household errands. If I’ve done nothing else right in life, at least I picked a great husband and father for my family.

So glad you have him and he is lucky to have you, Sarvi. I hope you feel better soon.

We had a glorious weekend with 10C-13C temps. There is a nook in our garden where it gets warm because there is no wind and Rickard’s been out there “working on his tan” (i.e snoozing in a lawn chair).

We put a down payment on a new grill this weekend. The one we had was vandalised and our gas tank was stolen, then the grill was tossed around in a bad storm in November last year and broke.

I can’t wait to start grilling/BBQing again! Spring is definitely here.

Also – I hate DST .. just saying.

I hear you on the time change! It’s so weird to wake in the dark and go to bed in the light.

So rotten about the gas tank theft. I’m glad you’re getting a new grill, grilling season is such a great time of year.

It is a great time of the year – and up here it’s such a short period as well so we’d better make the most of it. We’ve been sans tank since September I think and missed out on the last few weeks last season. Getting an early start this year will hopefully make up for it.

Rickard has also started calculations on building a pergola on the patio – I hope it doesn’t stay just an idea. That place is in serious need of shade.

I repinned your pergola pin, Lotta. We’re in the same boat with a back deck that is so scorching in the summer that I don’t like to go out there. Happy to hear you’re replacing the stolen grill…that was so nasty! Who does that to someone else’s BBQ?

Poor Darling Sarvi, I hope you are feeling better soon. xxx

We start DST this weekend but I forget which way we go….

How horrid that someone stole your BBQ Lotta. It makes you feel awful, someone stole the gate from our beach cottage last year.

I hope you get to build your new decks Lotta and Susanne. We have a great fly proof area (huge dairy up the road so flies are bonkers) but it is sooooo hot in Summer.

I have a piccie here if you would like to look https://www.flickr.com/photos/motherof5/13548356114/in/photostream/ . I am on the look out for a second hand industrial evaporative cooler to set on the roof. It would be amazing in Summer then.

The children have parties out there and I can keep a discrete eye on them through the bi-fold door.

We’re finishing up DST this weekend. The clocks go backward, I think, Nicole!

I hated the few DST “trial years” we had where I grew up, but love it now I live much further south
